I walked through the Gatton Student center and saw him with Lowe last week, and I totally spaced and didn't check out what footwear he was wearing, boot or whatever. The thing I noticed was he was carrying a rock in the fast food line, spinning it on his finger like a Harlem globetrotter. So he may not be scrimmaging, but he's workin' to keep the feel of the ball.

Yep. He looks great. The mid/late December timeframe is all about redundancy in your safety plan for a career worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

With that on the line you probably don’t want him going 110% and being ultra physical his first weeks back. And since we have Purdue and UL so early, if you’re not gonna play him all out then, then you may as well steal him another six weeks of slowly ramping up his physicality in practice when it’s not likely to mean much of anything in terms of Ws.

I'm all for caution but, judging from that video, it doesn't sound crazy for him to be ready to go full bore by November 1. That's 7 weeks and 4 days and he looks more like 2 months away than 3 months to my eyes.

JQ is gonna be a stud. If I had to guess the latest he’s out is the first of December. I’d let him sit and practice and get as much time as possible while we see what BG. Jelevic and Moreno look like the first couple games. If BG (most likely) stepped up and played up to his potential. Stayed consistent took a step forward in his game and played like a star for 6/8 games we’d be fine without JQ until December. That’s giving him an extra month to get ready. Then come back. Ease his way into the lineup for 2-3 games. And man he’s a dog. He’s prolly ready to play at a high level as soon as he returns. But I’m just saying. If the last of December on there were 0 restrictions. 0 cautions with him just turn him loose. He should be dominating the SEC.

But if BG can step up. Give us like 8 pts. 6 rbs. 1 blk and make some 3’s. Play hard whistle to whistle. Brings that high motor. Then we’re good. If he can give us 10pts. 8rbs. 1blk and good defense against Louisville and MSU in November. Let JQ wait til Dec 2 vs UNC. Work him in. Play like 15 mins. Then turn him loose against Gonzaga. IU. St. Johns. By that St Johns game he should be able to go with no restrictions. But if BG or AJ or MM breakout and we’re winning maybe let him get his feet wet wet. Then a full go for St John’s. Then he’d have 2 games to get ready for SEC play. But again. I think he’ll step on the floor and be a force right away.

I'll wait till he's actually cleared to make any prediction about when he actually sees the floor if he does. NOBODY has any idea how his body or his repaired knee will respond to a full workload.

Well, son, it's Adolph Rupp here, and I gotta say, this Jayden Quaintance fellow—tall as a Kentucky pine and movin' like a freight train—has got a game that tickles my fancy somethin' fierce. Love how he owns that paint, blockin' shots like he's swattin' flies off a mule's back, and reboundin' with the grit of a coal miner haulin' a full load.

His touch around the rim's smoother'n fresh-churned butter, and the way he runs the floor for a big fella? Dang near poetry. Kid's got that fire, that raw talent that'll make him a force—pure Wildcat material, if I do say so. Now, pass the playbook; I could watch that 'un all day.
