….wow. We had to have this one, and it really didn’t look good for a while. It seemed like a switch went on defensively. We smothered IU the last 16 mi or so. That’s what makes sports addictive. You never know for sure what’s going to change.

I remember the 2014 team. They stunk until about early February. Then caught fire, and played for the National Championship.

Yeah, so glad we lost instead of won....

The miserable are out tonight in force.

Smile for 15 minutes. Geez. We aren't fixed or perfect but good grief....
Amen.

I didn't get to see the game because I chose to go to a family Christmas gathering instead. When I saw we won, I came to check the board, and it looks like we lost by 20.

This win doesn't erase the beginning of this season, but can we enjoy it for one night before wallowing in more negativity?

Some people aren't happy unless they're miserable.

Yeah. I don't get it.

I upset when we lose. Happy when we win.

There's tons to fix but and we still may suck- but beating IU is always a great thing.

Indiana is not good
The schedule on the NET rankings site currently lists the home win over Indiana as a Quad 1 win giving the Cats their first Q1 W on the season. The site doesn't update in realtime after the conclusion of the game. Sometime tomorrow it will get updated to reflect the NET ranking show the first win in the Quad 1 section.

Win doesn’t mean anything. If we get in, we’ll be a low seed. Next year looks even worse. Still has to go

No, but honestly, neither are we. However, seeing the guys have heart and busting their @$$ on the defensive end was a breath of fresh air. As opposed to the previous games, it finally looked like they cared about winning. This team isn't going to outtalent teams, but as shown tonight, being scrappy might.

See I don’t think 2014 stunk. They were just young and couldn’t quite pull thru tough games yet. I was never worried about that season no matter how many games we lost. They were all like 1-2 possession games. Most losses were tough road games. Totally different kinda year. That team had talent too. Your point still is valid though and yes we needed that game and sports games change quickly sometimes. I hope this game is a catalyst to get us playing solid basketball from here on out. We have to get our offensive woes fixed though.

Indiana is not good
Indiana is actually pretty solid defensively, and the numbers back that up. They’re holding teams to about 0.95 points per possession, which puts them around the top 25 nationally, and opponents are shooting under 47 percent inside the arc. The issue is the offense, which is inconsistent rather than bad. Indiana’s effective field goal percentage sits in the low 50s, but it dips against better teams, and turnovers are the killer. They’re giving it away on roughly 18 to 19 percent of possessions, which is high enough to derail any rhythm. When they take care of the ball, they look dangerous. When they don’t, the offense bogs down fast. Our defense had a good effect on that last night.

Much-needed win. This team has obvious limitations so let's just take it 1 game at a time and don't take the big wins for granted. It's OK to celebrate last night's W even if the season on the whole is a disappointment. We beat IU. It's worth celebrating

Bully ball has to be our path forward tho. We aren't a team of 3pt bombers and that's OK. Dioubate showed us the way

It's fine (and justified in some ways) to have that opinion but...why post that now??? That second half last night was what we've been waiting for all season.

Will your opinion change if we beat SJ?

I don’t think it will because I see how recruiting is going and it’s simply not going to work. You have to have sure fire multiple nba players to win at high levels. Especially at Kentucky when you get everyone’s best effort. The way it’s looking, we’re going to miss out on every high major 5 star we’re after. If we beat St. John’s and grab stokes/smith or collins in the same week, maybe it would
