. . . listened to UL on the way back home, watched 2nd half of Michigan game, 2nd half of Bama v. Ole Miss game, and DVR'ed UK.

My thoughts

Kentucky is just terrible. Good lord people, if you think that Johnson and Company will run wild over any competent team, much less an SEC team you need to put the crack pipe down. Trinity HS has more team speed on defense than NMSU. As for our own defense, there really is no help at all that I can see, we will give up mega yards/points for the next 9 games.

The difference in stadiums and the game day atmosphere in Louisville and Lexington was both stark and really sad for me. How did we ever sink so low while UL is at or near the pinnacle? I don't know if UL really is the best team in the country, but damn, I don't think anyone would have beaten them today at Papa Johns, and yes, that includes Alabama.

Speaking of Bama, gun to my head, I still think that they are the team to beat. Give Saban a month to game plan for Louisville, and I think the superiority of their roster will just overwhelm Louisville. They have unbelievable talent at nearly every position.

What do you think about a final four of UL, Bama, Michigan and Houston? The nouveau riche vs. the Old Guard? Pretty interesting matchup I would say.

Very hard to see a scenario that has both UofL and Houston in the playoff, unless UofL wins the ACC losing only to Houston and beats Clemson in the ACCCG after Clemson loses to nobody in the regular season but UofL.

Would be interesting. Houston plays the Cards later, so that plus one other loss could keep either out.
After today I would say Louisville will be favored in all their games.

I think Clemson and UL are in the same division, UL runs the table in the ACC, with only loss to Houston. What if UL wins in a shootout and Houston is 11-1? They may still get in over a two loss PAC 12 team and the Big 12 champ, especially if it is Oklahoma

Yeah, you may be right. Clemson/UofL/FSU looks like they're all in the same division. My playoff thought is you're looking at SEC Champ (Bama, I assume)/B1G Champ (OSU or Michigan), ACC Champ (Clemson - UofL winner) and I like Stanford to get that fourth slot. Big 12 is out of the playoff picture unless it's Texas I think.

My gosh it's just really painful to think about where UofL is at this point when we sit back and think about how their coach was down on his hands and knees begging to come here but our AD wouldn't even give him an interview. I feel like that's going to be one of infamous bungles that we'll still be talking about 20 years from now.

You certainly said my thoughts. Albeit in a much more tactful way. I suppose I've taken my gloves off so to speak.

I see absolutely no positives from this game tonight. None. Had this been against Florida last week? Absolutely would be singing their praises. I just hope that Stoops isn't retained. UK is in need of a new direction. My goodness, watching UofL and their program put UK to shame in every way imaginable is infuriating. Sadly, it's reality for UK football fans.

Lastly, if the football program isn't fixed and quickly, they will lose fans permanently.

Clemson won today 59-0 in a game voluntarily shortened. Clemson has been and likely will be top 5 all year. Louisville goes there. They may win, but they won't be favored....

Glad you said that about Johnson and the O. That poor UNMS Team was hapless. Still was fun to watch, even though it won't last.

no way possible houston and louisville both make 4 team playoff. If houston loses one they are out automatically there will be plenty of teams with 1 loss that would be ahead of them and if louisville gets beat by houston even if they win ACC a 1 loss team like ohio state michagan stanford and a few others would get in ahead of them. Only way louisville gets in is to run the table.

Right on par with not hiring Howard Schnellenberger in 1981. UK has basically built U of L's program with these two blunders.

Maybe, maybe not. If Jackson gets the Heisman, UL would be in

Houston is out if they lose one game but I could see both getting in if Louisville only gets beat by Houston and wins every other game. Especially if other teams lose

If both are undefeated going into that game, ranked say no. 2 and no. 4, just hypothetically, and the game ends 41-38, and they both run the table the rest of the way, why would the loser not be in the Final Four? Houston beat the hell out of Oklahoma this year and Fla State in the Peach Bowl at the end of last season, they are definitely legit, as are the Cards.

Oklahoma is not that good and nor is FSU. Yes UL is legit but they only play 3-4 quality opponents. If they lose one, same goes for Houston, and the other Power 5 teams only lose 1 but have a much tougher overall schedule, then it is hard to see them getting in.
Lets say Michigan, OSU and or Mich St only lose one game. Lets say Arkansas only loses one game. What about Tenn, GA or FL? What about Baylor or Stanford?
Most likely, the winner of the UL Clemson game gets in the Final 4. Even though I think UL is better than Clemson, it will be very difficult to when on the road. Especially after Clemson has seen that UL is for real. They will be ready and it will be a shoot out.

The reason they are at their pinnacle is because their HC is a proven winner while we, eh ......

louisville or houston will not get in unless they are undefeated. there will be a couple 0 loss teams and a few more 1 loss teams that will get in before one of those two
