Just pencil Cassius in

“Coach was K telling me that he really saw me thriving in the system and that every time he has a really high-level athlete, the athleticism will show and it’ll prevail," Stanley said after announcing his commitment to the Blue Devils. "I think that really stuck with me and I think what he had to offer on the court and then just being taught by the best was very intriguing.”

Cassius (along with Moore) definitely came on strong at the end of their HS careers. Both guys you would say are trending in the right direction. Whereas Vernon Carey was once the no doubt # 1 or 2 guy and now some have him outside the top 5. For the record, I'm not worried about Vernon though.

It's not very complicated when it comes to Cassius, how efficient will he be from the perimeter?? If he can be respected from deep and hits a descent %, than he should win the starting job and have a great season (hopefully not tooooo good a season though or else he may not stay a 2nd year.)

The reason I say he will definitely start is because it seems like Vernon and Matt will be the bigs. Idk much about Matt so idk if he can play the 3. So it would come down to Alex and Cassius at the 2. Cassius is going to eat his lunch head to head in practice. Alex is a specialist and that’s it. It may get embarrassing for Alex in practice

I think a lot of people are still underselling Alex. Now granted, I oversold him prior to last season. He just didn't make the jump I thought we'd see. But, I think it's premature to mail it in on him.

My biggest concern with him is just knowing how to play defense. He's definitely an above-average athlete....he's just failed to put it all together, but it's mostly because of this basketball IQ on the defensive end. I'm not sure it's effort, either. He's a kid who I feel can be a consistent double-digit threat....his defense might prevent that, though. I'm cheering for him.

I think Stanley is going to have a learning curve of his own, much like we saw with Cam....but Stanley lacks the offensive arsenal Cam could put on display. He's an outstanding athlete, though. That's going to be his trump card, IMO. If he can play within himself on offensive and be disruptive on the other end, there's no reason he won't be playing major minutes.

He reminds me a cross between Rickey Price and Rodney Hood. Not sure if I'd pencil him into the starting 5, but he should be in the rotation.

Think Maggette. Finisher at the rim, ever improving jumper. The dude will be a valuable asset to this team. He’s really keeping himself grounded with this, which isn’t always something you could’ve said about him in high school. The dude seems ready to take the game seriously.

Definitely being disrespectful to Alex with this post. I don’t even disagree with your analysis necessarily, but no reason to choose some of those words.

Just being a realist. I don’t see Alex being able to stay in front of him and this dude is supposed to be a really good defender. We haven’t seen any evidence that Alex can even dribble. He doesn’t in games. He looks scared when he has to dribble

Again, I don’t necessarily disagree with your analysis. Just not sure why you are so negative about Alex. Well actually I do know why you are so negative about him, but I’m sick of having that conversation on here.

I don't recall ever talking to you about Alex. You agree but you think I should be nicer? Alex is just not a Duke starting caliber player. Unless he makes a HUGE jump in every aspect of his game. If he could be half as good as Luke Kennard then we're in business

Joey could have a really awesome season. He won’t be on a single scouting report until December and that may give him plenty of time to get a feel for the speed of things.

There is time available everywhere except the point guard position. Who wants it?
He’s a doozy

It’s all good man. Yeah you could have been nicer, but overall I see where you’re coming from.

Stanley is certainly an exciting prospect. Seems like an upgrade over Ellis at this point. No doubt he will be a stud, only question is how soon.

He’ll be better than Boogie year one, maybe even 2 if he’s around that long, but Boogie is going to have an awesome college career.

A lot of guys struggle their first year. Even Cam, a top 5 guy, struggled after the Kentucky game. Jack probably had a better first semester than Cam or close to it. Who would have thought that a year ago?
