And Justify was 2.5 seconds faster in the Preakness, w/ both in the slop. It's futile to compare, as each year stands on its own, pace, etc.

Great horse, great story. He came out of nowhere in February and won the Triple Crown. That’s crazy.

Apparently his breeding rights are being sold for $85M to Coolmore too.

Looks like th pattern is starting again. Had four in the 40s, three in the 70s and now two the last four years.

Incredible accomplishment. Three races in five weeks, and two of them in awful conditions. Then, he faces fresh horses in the Belmont and still wins.
He earned it.

Wasn’t the size of Secretariat’s heart the reason for his dominance? I’ve seen steroid speculation a few times now on here. I’d like to think that wasn’t the case.

yes. Big Red had nearly twice the size heart as normal. he had one hell of a motor. that also led to his death much younger than most thoroughbreds.

Pharoah is probably better imo. He was much better at the Belmont and better breeding for classic distances. I think his offspring will do better.
