Hope this doesn’t mean Rodgers is leaving

Agreed. Wish these young folks would just come out and plainly state what they intend to do instead of cryptic symbols etc......

Probably means he's planning to enter the draft and will pass on the bowl game. I (selfishly) think he would be better served by coming back next year but it's his decision to make - whatever that may be.

So dramatic.

I’m going to assume this is a tweet not related to football, or else he would’ve spelled it out in clear concise language.

I’m also assuming if he did leave here, it would be a transfer and not the draft. Why would he leave early and not improve his draft position? We had a heralded LT who chose to leave early and he was not drafted at all despite having all the measurables.

For one good luck if he does, 2. He won't be drafted, 3. I expected a whole lot more from him as high as he was ranked coming in.

Justin seemed to really turn it on more and more as the season progressed. His coaches raves about his improvement and work on the line. With a great offseason, I could see him making a national name for himself next year.

He's said multiple times since the Louisville game he ain't leaving. Let's wait and see what happens before the board freaks out.

Its funny but I noticed something he did in the Louisville game that caught my eye and it stuck with me. He made a big deal out of congratulating Ruffalo on a kick he made against UL and I thought, man that guy is not only playing better but he seems really engaged now too. Big things ahead for him.

Kentucky’s last three nose tackles will all play in the nfl. Pretty wild.
Rogers had a pretty good year and improved as the season progressed. But he has a ways to go to be mentioned with those two. Bully and Bohanna required constant double teams . IMO Rogers would go undrafted at this point.

I think you’re being harsh. I assumed Rogers would leave for NFL early two months ago the way he was playing. If he’s leaving for NIL that further cements to me the market thinks he’s a helluva player.

Agree. Really underwhelming until the last few games. Still doesn't always command a double team, which is an issue.

If he wants to get evaluated, I think that's smart. If he's leaving for the NFL, it's an awful decision.

However from a team perspective, our defense would actually improve. Walker needs that spot as it is. He's way better and lets us get an actual pass rush threat out there beside him

No idea what is going on here, but for his sake I hope that all is well. If he is leaving, I wish him the best and hope he reaches his dreams/goals. Either way, he will be fine and so will UK.

I’m not saying he can’t play in the nfl. He has good upside . I just don’t believe he would be drafted. He improved as the year went on. But he hasn’t approached Bullies or Bohannas level yet . If he were to leave for the nfl at this point, it would be a Dare Rosenthal level mistake, imo.

Dude played well and did a good job eating blocks and allowing the LBs to roam free. He'll get drafted and likely play a long time in the NFL

No he is not getting drafted. He played fine this year but not amazing. A clear step down for McCall and and Bohanna. And those guys are just bigger frames as well.

I have no idea why he'd leave unless it's for NIL to another schools

He'll most def be drafted, specially once he shows his strength and speed off at the combine!

He's projected as a 6th rd draft pick before the combine and boast an A grade from PFF! So.........

To each their own but I'd say Rodgers was very good this year. We aren't going to compare game film of NG play, we know production isn't reflected with this position, so we're all left with our faulty memories. I don't see the point in debating it. He and Young were my favorite parts of the defense to watch so that's who I usually did watch. I felt there was a drop-off whenever Hayes came on to give him a break. He drove the center into the backfield most plays.

NG is a position where no one talks about how great the player is until after the fact usually. Remember McCall talking about how players should be paid in the summer of 2020 and the reaction was mostly who is this guy? He didn't even start last year? But he was very good backing up Bohanna in 2019? Remember Bohanna was not described as a future pro. He was described in a negative way as a "DJ Eliott recruit" who was solid but not third round pick quality.

I figured he, Weaver, and Valentine would test the waters. I would not be shocked if a program tampered to get him to transfer for a big NIL payday either. I figure he's a late round pick either in 2023 or 2024 so he might as well get paid sooner. If some school is offering him guaranteed NIL money that's more than a late round pick he's gotta take it.

I mean, if he ends up transferring to a school for an outrageous price, and/or it's a projected Top 15 program, I think that goes a ways towards how he's perceived by coaches.

Agree. That said, teams didn't commit to consistently double teaming him. That was a major issue early. Later in the year he started making plays and was more consistently double teamed. When he was, he was consistently driven off the ball.

Imo some of that is because he's playing out of position. He and walker should've switched. I'm guessing Rogers was sold on being able to play ng.

For the NFL, he's too light for ng. He will get some looks at 4-3 dt but he's really losing money by leaving now

If I remember correctly he never really got himself into very good shape. These kids today, some of them don’t know what work means. He’s fixing to find out if he thinks he’s going to jump to the league.

Our defense is really good, and the players like Coach White and his staff. So far the only transfer we have lost off the defense was Adrian Huey who was recruited over and buried on our depth chart. I can't see a reason for Rogers to transfer, and I don't think his best interests would be served by leaving now for the draft. That doesn't mean he won't. We have seen other good players make bad decisons because they could not be patient and keep improving inside the program. As Stoops himself recently said, this is wild west style free agency.

Deone Walker and Josaih Hayes are strong players who could handle the NT role without skipping a beat. That would presumably leave Oxendine, Dinkins, and Anaele at the DT position. If Rogers plans to go, I would look for Coach Stoops to take one more interior lineman out of the portal. We have room on the roster.
