Juwan Howard just threw and open-handed slap at an opposing coach for Wisconsin. After that, punches were thrown by players. Pretty silly for him to lose his cool like that. His players certainly followed his example. A coach should know better, and I’d say he’s got to be suspended for long time.

That was classy. Now I want to know what happened during that timeout.

edit: He was pissed that a TO was called late in the game with a big lead.

Yeah, he thinks the game was over as Wisconsin had their bench in. But Howard was pressing and they called timeout to avoid a 10-second call. He seems like a little ***** in all this. Good grief…it’s a timeout. And stop pressing if you want the game to end so bad. Can’t expect one team to quit trying if you’re going to do that.

Not to mention, this is the 2nd time he’s gotten into it with an opposing coach.

His second time attacking a coach in the last two years - he should be suspended for a while and be told three strikes and you’re out. I would also make him sign an amendment to his contract stating specifically that any violent acts in the future would allow him to be fired for cause (and i’d even throw in something that says he’d owe the school money in that situation).

There is no place in sports for this kind of behavior from a head coach...he needs to be FIRED!!! This will start being commonplace if allowed
to continue.

Anybody remember Woody Hayes slugging the Clemson Linebacker many years ago. He was FIRED!!!!

I'm starting to see behavior by coaches that is not gentlemanly or lady like in sports. Society is changing and with it comes differences in the way some behave.

I guess the South Chicago raising is coming out in Howard...(this is not his first time showing this type of behavior)...

To be honest, I believe that, in Woody's case, Ohio State was handed an opportunity to make a change they wanted to make anyway. Woody's bloom had faded. They wouldn't have fired him 10 years earlier when they were national championship contenders and playing in Rose Bowls instead of Gator Bowls. Just my opinion.

Y'all should go the Michigan Board...The consensus is not in Howard's corner...Michigan has standards and being a head coach comes with sportsmanship...

The head coach sets the standard for his players to follow. The fans/alumni/administration sets the standard they are willing to accept from a coach!!

The Big 10 and Michigan are already collaborating on "swift" disciplinary action. Something is going to happen, not saying what it will be.

"The conference will provide more information and will take swift and appropriate disciplinary action when it completes its review," the conference said in a statement.

Color me cynical, but I'll be [pleasantly] surprised if he's fired, considering today's society. He'll probably be suspended for a couple of games, and then all will be forgiven.
Especially since this isn't the first episode, I feel like he should be gone. How can you positively lead young men when you act a fool like that?

He got into a confrontation with Turgeon from Maryland 2 years ago.
OK, I watched it. But that was not an assault, except for him shoving his own assistants, who were restraining him. He didn't get close enough to the other coach to touch him.

Man it takes 3 assaults to be gone forever? Wow. I’d think one assault would be enough

When the players have to restrain the coach, it's not a good thing. Howard kept wanting to get free even after the main altercation was over. And yes Howard did push the Wisconsin coach in the chest and definitely slugged a Wisconsin assistant. Howard at this point has used up his 3 strikes and you are out. What were the Wisconsin fans chanting? I couldn't make it out. Also looked like number 34 of Wisconsin kept moving toward the Michigan players at the end.

That’s why I called it a confrontation. But was just answering the incident someone else mentioned. I agree with your assessment.

Well it happened in a defund the police state so I’m sure he will not get in trouble with the law. That would look bad.
