I found a good K interview this morning, and just for fun I found a similar type of interview of Roy. I think these two videos highlight the differences in these two men's personalities.

Denver I will watch K. I cannot bring myself to watch Roy. The aw shucks, folksy act and insincere grin is such a facade for his cheating and lying ways.

Besides I would bet anything he refers to himself at least once in the 3rd person, lol.

I watched both of the videos, and K and Roy couldn't be more different. They are both highly successful basketball coaches that love their schools, but that's about it.

K is humble, disciplined, and businesslike in his approach, Roy not so much. And Heel fans always talk about how arrogant K is, but look and listen to this video and then make up your mind as to who is more likely the arrogant one. You can see that Roy is not all 'ah shucks' like he puts on much of the time. At the first of the vid, Roy proclaims (with enthusiasm), 'I've got more desire in my little finger to win than all the Carolina people that have ever lived'...what hubris, and how dickish. Also later on he mentions about getting out a key to a door faster (to Steve Robinson), and Robinson replies 'he didn't think it was a competition', and Roy says, 'all of life is a competition'. Just from these observations alone you can just bet how much it torments him privately that K owns him head to head, and is the GOAT. As Sky says, Roy is more like a fan (in demeanor) than he is the coach of UNC.

Roy must be doing something right, as he has won it all a few times now. I am proud that we can say the same, only we get to support a man with great intellect, integrity and toughness. K's upbringing and Westpoint training gives him a a great perspective. Roy is just a good ol' boy that rode coat tails to the roof/ceiling. There's nothing wrong with being a good ol' boy. I like my friends and neighbors as such, but you need some intellect and toughness in there somewhere. I just don't see it with Roy. I suppose he might be likable. I'd share a whiskey with him any day, but the guy just doesn't exude leadership to me. There's got to be something more going on that has led to his success. Who's hiding behind that grin?

You got him cold Dirt. He's obsessed with back to back nattys IMO because his biggest "COMPETITION" is K. The GOAT has the clear edge head to head and that 5-3 natty lead. K also surpassed El Deano in wins and thats in Deputy Dawg's craw as well....

"The more desire in my little finger to win," is so childish and like you referenced CLEARLY symbolizes RW as the "arrogant" one as well. Again back to the "life is a competition" remark, he's on a mission for back-to-back natl titles like K owns. He DOGGEDLY pursued and finally landed Cam Johnson.I think. Ol Roy worked his ex asst and new ACC kid on the block Kevin Stallings in ways we'll never know.

Coach K drives him crazy. He is so obsessed with him it's silly. He's just like a typical tar heel fan. In fact he is a typical tar heel fan and I think he's a thr regular. I don't know which one for sure but I say one of the crudest. OFC

That's him. If I were an unc fan I would be offended by that statement. OFC

I wouldn't be. For me, it goes back to how these guys invest in their programs. If Coach K said he wanted Duke to win twice as much as me I wouldn't be offended at all. I'd be more offended if he didn't want to win twice as much as me. It's HIS job.

Both of those interviews were 'puff' pieces. I prefer one of the men much more over the other, though.

For me it's pretty simple. If you're a unc fan you take exception with anything K does or says. If you're a Duke fan you take exception with anything Roy says or does. It's like being a conservative or a liberal- nothing the opposition party does is correct in your eyes and never would be. You accept it and admit it.

To me, both videos are either badges of honor or gasoline on a fire, just depends what shade of blue glasses you're wearing.
