I think this team definitely had something going on with it whether it be just a weird funk or locker room issues or whatever. Hopefully whatever the “it” was has changed. Glad to see Kam getting back to himself.
That was a weird game. And letting Bellarmine score more than 60-70 is a problem. I guess you just take the W and move on to the new year.
Not bad for a guy who allegedly has a broken shot. He is beginning to get acclimated now and he should be a good shooter for us going forward. If he can shoot close to 40% going forward plus add in his other strengths and KW will be a good weapon for us.
DA and JJ also shot very well from three today
Remember when I kept referring to Kam and DA’s catch and shoot/spot up numbers from last season and was saying to be patient? Eventually, they will progress to the mean….and I was almost universally lambasted and mocked for being a sunshine pumper? This is why you don’t act like we know everything about what a team CANNOT be before you even have all the parts or played half of a season. Can’t promise we are elite, but the shooting was always going to pick up some.

Imagine if we could ever get all of our shooters to shoot well at the same time. As soon as Williams comes along then Chandler starts a slump.

Chandler has always been an on/off guy. He will get back at some point. I have no worries there.
They shot 30 free throws against us an 6 against Georgia. Now, maybe you will say we foul more than Georgia, but come on.

Williams said he had been rushing his shot thinking he had to get it off quicker. Said he slowed down and got back to his fundamentals. Realized at 6 8 he didn’t need to hurry.
He’s got some range and I think gets it off plenty fast.

I am happy that Kam got out of his shooting funk. He just needed 2 more to tie Jodie Meeks I think? He had 10?
Anyways, if we can get Kam to average 3-4 threes a game we will be in a very good spot.

Kam had a great game. He was hot and the other players looked for him. What a novel concept! When he was only getting a couple of shots a game game he didn’t have the chance to get in a groove! Same for Noah and Chandler. Get it to them in the shooting pocket and we will see much the same results!
