Unless something going on we’re not aware of. I’m not a fan of singling out one guy. If it’s a reset, that means everybody.

Kam was pretty much worthless tonight outside of a nice assist and a blocked shot. He missed all of his open threes. At some point we have to realize that he was a nine-point per game guy from Tulane.
If I had to guess, the lights are too bright for him thus far. You don't go from 40+% to nothing, but especially when all your misses are wide open. He's got to be in his head. Props to him for trying to make himself useful in other areas while he gets out of the mental cage. JMO.

I think everyone knew that before he even got here except Pope. The fact that he was the first guy pope took in the portal is mind blowing. I don’t blame Kam at all for coming though. That’s all on pope.

What’s really weird is that usually when shooters fail to translate moving up a level in competition, it’s because they struggle to get as open as they’re used to. He seems to brick at least of a couple of completely unguarded shots per game right now. I’m not sure anybody could have reasonably predicted that.

Him and Williams out after curfew ran stairs and sat first half
Does it concern anyone else that coming off a 35 point embarrassing blow out where you get booed off the court……in the first half…..we have 2 players with disciplinary issues???? Like, can you not think of the team and maybe just maybe leave the selfishness at the house.

Maybe the better question would be " does it surprise anyone"?

This mock draft is further proof that Kam Williams is set to breakout for Kentucky

July 15, 2025 - "The 6'8 wing is a sharpshooter, ... mock draft for the 2026 NBA Draft, and they have Williams going as the sixth overall pick to the Brooklyn Nets...."

"Quaintance, a 6-9 power player, has been projected as a potential top five pick but is “only” No. 11 in the NBAdraft.net projections. He’s coming off a knee injury and once he proves he’s full healthy his ranking likely will rise."

"But guess who is No. 16? That’s right — Williams."

"The 6'8 wing is a sharpshooter, and this is a reason why the NBA is starting to pay attention to one of the newest Wildcats. NBADraft.net recently updated their mock draft for the 2026 NBA Draft, and they have Williams going as the sixth overall pick to the Brooklyn Nets."

I find this as confusing as you do at this point but to say everyone knew that besides Pope is clearly false.

Exactly anyone thinking he was coming here to be a star is mistaken same for the rest of them. They were our 3rd and 4th choices we are about to find that out again real quick Saturday against IU , 12/20 against St Johns , and 1/3 against Alabama!

Noah is playing well
I love his effort. This opponent is comprised of D2 transfers and ranks 350 out of 358 in D1. We need to run a motion offense that prioritizes screens to get shooters open looks for Trent to be effective. Screens take effort, on both ends of the court- watch the screens on offense and defense, and you will see the difference between a good team and a lazy low effort, undisciplined team.......

No effort on defense, rebounding, fighting through screens or moving and setting screens in the offense. He picked his corner on offense, and stood there waiting for someone to pass him the ball, so he could clunk another wide open 3 pointer. Low energy, no intensity dude. Kam is simply not applying himself.

This.

Once you get JQ back as well as Mo, Kam and Garrison need to be on the bench. Maybe even Noah if he is not going to show up against decent teams. Get this rotation down to about nine players. Build up some continuity and chemistry.
Make them fight to be one of the 8 players that actually see the floor. This everybody gets equal minutes in the 10 man rotation nonsense must go!

Still have no idea how he shot 41% on that many attempts. His shooting form is fugly. No wonder he’s so inconsistent and can’t hit anything. It’s like a shot put. I like when he drives the ball, if he could play defense he would be useful. We need him to knock open 3’s down. He bricked all of them tonight. Easiest shots he will get too.
