I worked there for 1 year in 2003 at the high school. Great place. It appears that this lady took over and went straight after the police force. Rumors are that she is in with the "defund the police" groups and the police officers did not like the direction she was wanting them to go.

Lady mayor? First I ever heard of an entire force including the chief resigning.

It is the city manager, not the mayor.
Well, it would appear that she now has the entire police budget to spend some where else. Unless they have to pay for support from the neighbor city that offered help. Probably won’t hear much about the story from the liberal press.

The sheriff's office said they would be patrolling as normal, but not additional.
