This is maybe an indication that they still aren't sure about Bosma and that tightness.

First pitch isn't until 7:30. It's 9:30am. Super depressed from basketball, so trying to focus on something else.
Well, if it is anything like what IU did to us this week, then this weekend will not be any better, May just add to our misery!

True statement, but I have little hope that baseball is going to make us feel better. I hope that I'm wrong.

Well, we’re starting SEC slate. The magic number is 14. Get to 14 SEC wins and you’re typically in the NCAA tournament. SEC schedule looks like this:

@Arkansas 13-3
Georgia 14-3
Ole Miss 14-3
@TAMU 10-6
@Mizzou 12-2
Vandy 14-2
@Florida 13-4
Tennessee 16-1
@South Carolina 10-6
Auburn 13-5

They key to it all… don’t get swept. Easiest way to look at it is that you need to win 5 series and then avoid getting swept. Do that and you get 15 wins at least. Not easy. Obviously, if you get sweeps and avoid them, then your room for error is a bit more. Sweep 2 and you only have to win 4 series and avoid getting swept. Get swept and you have to sweep more people or win more series.

Last year, UK won 3 series (Missouri, Auburn, & Alabama) for 7 wins, swept Auburn. We added wins against Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and LSU. Miss State and USC swept us.

In 2018, UK won 5 series (Miss State, Missouri, Georgia, South Carolina, Auburn) for 10 wins. We couldn’t avoid getting swept by Arkansas and Vanderbilt. Win a game in either of those series and we get to 14 and we’re in the tournament.

So, where do the 5 series wins come from? Have to think TAMU is one and Auburn is one. Missouri looked like a possibility, but their record is at least good so far, as is their RPI. Schedule has been tougher than ours and it is on the road. TAMU is on the road as well, so that isn’t ideal. USC is next, but they just took a series win agianst Texas at home. We play them in Columbia.

Then you have to ask… can we avoid getting swept by Tennessee, Arkansas, Vandy?

An interesting thing is that in 2021 and 2018 we finished poorly. Played Vandy in the last series in both and in 2021 we played USC the second to last series. We got swept by Vandy in 2018. Get 1 win and we’re in. In 2021 we got swept by USC… if we get 1 win we’re maybe in, or at least harder to keep out, especially with 1 SEC tournament win.

Goal has to be to get 1/3 this weekend. Don’t feel that confident in it but hoping for the best.

Horrible baseball weather in Fayetteville, cold, rainy and strong wind blowing out to left, sparse crowd that would normally be 10,000 - 11,000. Hogs have a solid pitching and usually very good defensively, hitting has been struggling most of the season, but much better lately.

Down 1-0. UK caught a break as Razorback runner rounds third and slipped instead of scoring

Glad we limited them to one, but our pitching and defense continues to be poor.

10,000 is a nice crowd to get. Hopefully the rest of the weekend is good.

Hopefully it will. The Hogs baseball fans really support the team, tickets are always sold out for the season with normally over 30K for a conference series. It is also a beautiful stadium that is always rated as one of the best in the country.

Ive complained about this in the past. But if you listen to any other broadcast around the SEC, its awesome. You listen to our group, mainly a certain one, and it sounds like a 9th grade science teacher.

These guys are great so far. They sound professional, like they are doing a minor league game.

Wow that was ugly. We are a bad defensive team. Jump just takes the wrong angle and the ball goes over his head.

Estep then makes an error. 4th of the game. Could be 5th. Holy hell.

I am obviously biased, but I think they are the best in the SEC. They are Arkansas guys for sure, but generally do a good job of calling it like it is while trying to keep their bias out of it.

Neil Price will forever be my favorite, but these guys are great for TV. Biased, but not so much that it's grating.

Our tv guy, Gabriel is the worst. Great guy by all accounts, but his excitement is all over the place and at the wrong times. He gets names wrong and doesn't recognize when there are substitutions. One game he spent the whole game calling our RF Fogler instead of Fogel. He even corrected himself wrongly. Lol
