2020 feels like 2019. Tons of strikeouts. First inning should have had 2 errors that led to 3 runs.

Rigsby sure looks exciting. Pretty wild but managed to keep it scoreless in his first inning.

3 Steal attempts on Kessler so far, all successful. That last throw was pretty bad. The one before that was on target.

Back to back strikeouts with 2 runners on in the top of the 7th. Both with 2 strikes. Unreal. Come on guys!

Ugh... Harper left in when clearly struggling and he walks two and then gives up a double down the line to plate them. Now 5-1.

And there you have Mingione baseball the last two years: leadoff double, flyout, ground out, struck out looking. TCU is probably pretty good. We'll help them out this weekend.

I believe that was 1st pitch swing, 1st pitch swing and then backwards K.

Well, I'm just not seeing many major changes... anyone else?
It’s only one game but yeah I agree. Same losing formula as happened so often in 2019. Struck out 11 times, several in RBI situations. Issued 8 walks. Officially 1 error but the grounder to Rhodes in the first inning was an obvious error. Not sure what the official scorer saw there. 4 stolen bases against and they all looked easy.

Man alive, talk about an inauspicious start to the season. Hopefully we get the bats going tomorrow. They sure weren't hot today. Ramsey did not come off as a Friday starter to me but what do I know

Agree. It's early to say for certain, but like I said earlier...2020 has the same feel as 2019. Errors and walks lead to runs given up. Then UK fails to put pressure on opposing defenses and strike out instead of putting the ball in play. Those are often looking strikeouts. Then pitchers give up a bunch of walks.

Middle of the lineup was flat awful. Anu, Collett, and Kessler went something like 0 for 11 with a strikeout each. Heck, really our top 5 were pitiful. A combined 1 for 17 with 3 walks, 8 strikeouts and 6 left on base.

Sadly, I didn't get to focus in on what he was doing. At least he just gave up 1 earned and probably could and should have been out of the first if Curtis turns two on the hard hit grounder. 4 walks is too many though.

Just this week we heard the new pitching coach had really taught the pitching staff a lot. Only one game . . . . but 8 walks in 8 innings looked painfully familiar. If Ramsey is our best starter, we will lose a lot of Friday night matchups in SEC play.
