McCoy doubles and then sac bunted to third. A grounder to the pitcher hangs up McCoy but the UT pitcher threw the ball away and it scores McCoy as Gray takes second.
UK has missed a chance to score more getting the lead off man on in each inning but only scoring once.
Now we walked the lead off guy in the 3rd, so will see if Travis can get himself out of trouble.

OK, immediately after I posted, UK gives up a two run homer and then a solo shot. 4-1 and the wheels are coming off.
Ming said last week that he had had some soreness so they gave him a few weeks off. Seems like they like to bring him out of the pen on Friday nights now, but no sign of him yet.
This is just like the football game last October.

Yeah, this “small ball” is absolutely not sustainable. You cannot attract recruits with it.
I firmly believe our leader looked around over the winter and finally realized the roster he put together was severely under powered and had to resort to this. This was not a strategy. It was born out of necessity due to poor recruiting/development.
Luckily it worked for a portion of the season. So he embraced it. Don’t think this style can carry us out of a region this year.
