Not a good look for the most sane fans in college basketball.

Unfortunately that word gets tossed around quite freely these days (from all races), I've even seen it on this board.

I’ve never seen that word used on this board because I’m sure no Mod would allow any poster to use that language here. If they did, they should have been called out (like this
lady).

I imagine that would be based on personal experience. I am sure some people use it freely, but in my experience it is very rare to hear it used as a slur or even in reference to people.

It actually was use, (not to call the person out, again) but they put a meme from The movie Training day when Dezell said My N...... I called them out on it, cause I dont agree with it being used for a joke, or hate.. Not to stir the pot but it has been said on this board.

Ok, so someone posted it in a meme; I thought you were saying someone called someone else that name (like the UK fan did). Ok, so was it deleted? Is that the only instance? You’re previous post made it seem like it was commonly used which is why I said I’ve never seen that and don’t remember seeing the meme either.

That's a little different IMO. Not that I condone the use in any situation. But in the context of the current conversation, that is not the same. If you don't like people using it in any context, that's great. But it is much different when people say it as a synonym for homey than it is in the context of this lady's behavior.

I've seen the word used Twice since ive been here, and I certainly didnt intend or say it was a frequent thing on the board. But it has happened, and To be honest not sure if it was deleted. By bringing that up was just confirming my statement of how FREELY the word was being used in today society. I come in peace and again not to stir the pot or come off like a smart Azz.

I think its an ugly word in any context, and its not a synonym for anything other than hate and ignorance. I obviously have a deep dislike for the word, and I get that other may not. I certainly wont back down from my stance and i'm not petitioning for anyone else too. Sorry to turn this into a debate, probably should have know better.

Tlass has posted here many times guys and means no ill will he truly just saying his stance on the word. He’s a true Duke fan and overall good poster.

In his defense as he’ll recall I remember the meme and when the word was used on this board and it was immediately deleted once seen.

But like stated, stupid people are every where like the woman in the video.

What a disgusting human being. Clearly a part of her everyday vocabulary.

Assume kids were sitting nearby and heard that. Just flat out disgusting.

My shock level is zero.
Trashy trashy woman. Her parents must be so proud of their little angel. And heaven help her kids if she has any

I hope it was worth doing what she did. If she has a job, don’t be surprised if she loses it.

All good here, bro. I don't use it in any context myself. Nothing but respect for your stance, I was just speaking of the cultural use of the word. I am all for it never being said in any form, but we know better than that.

Funny how they can dish out the trash talking, but if another fan from another fan base gives them the business like that fan, they melt to shreds!

Watching that video is a great reminder for me that no matter what race you are, no matter how far we as a country has come, you will still have that percentage of dumbasses and it's not restricted to any one race.

It's a reminder for me that I was raised the right way by my parents, rest their souls, to keep racial comments out of my mouth and my skin color doesn't make it right for me regardless of the place or situation. I don't tolerate it from anybody, including my own race. If people are still racist in 2020, then it's a problem they have and not me. Don't mean I won't address it however needed, but I haven't had to.

It's a reminder for me that my focus, while on this side of the dirt, will always gravitate toward the positive, kind-hearted people. That's the way I was raised, what I believe in, and for me, it has worked just fine over my 53 years of life. The way I look at it is, no matter if you're a man or woman, regardless of race, if you are grown enough to say some racial crap to anybody, then be grown enough to accept the consequences that will come afterward.

In Training Day Denzel Washington used the word that ends with A, so it’s not exactly the same as the using the word that ends with ER. Although neither word should be used, some people would say that the two words have different meanings. I personally see the one ending with A used a lot more often than the one ending with ER.

I am white, so I can’t claim to understand how it feels to be called that, or why some use it, but to me, it is very derogatory and flat out shows where your mind is and what you are about.

Good post my friend. You know we all are minority's to a certain degree. You are a minority in Ky. because you are a Duke fan living there and I can only imagine going out in public wearing Duke gear but hopefully you are not physically attacked. Not to trying to say all minority's is equal because it certainly is not. There wll always be bigots in the world until the Lord returns and sets things straight. Until then all we can hope for is that bigotry is minimal. OFC

Embarrassing.

It should be noted that it's just one stupid, ignorant UK fan. It's not like there's a group chanting it or anything. Unfortunately, stupid people live in the world.
True. However as someone who lived there for 5 years I can say with confidence most of their fan base has absolutely no problem using that word.
