Wonder if the coaches want the QB's to do this during games as well?

“You’ve got to do things right to get on the field, running after the ball after plays. They’re really big on that."

They're not talking chasing the ball after the play is made do they? This would make them fair game for getting their head taken off by blockers

I must not be understanding this correctly....???

I was curious too as to what that meant.

To me, the most logical context of this quote, is "running to the new LOS (i.e., where ball is spotted after a play). You cannot lolly gag getting to the LOS if you want to get a play off in about 18 seconds of play clock time. Barker also noted...

1. This year the QB will not have to signal the play to the WRs; they must get the play signal along with the QB, and,
2. QB will call protections

Both of these changes support a fast tempo offense. JMO
