Old news from August.
Pretty big news for my county. Apparently the fine folks over at Buc-ee's believe we are the perfect fit for their northernmost super gas station/convenience store. Hailing from the great state of Texas, Buc-ee's does it big, real big. This place seems like the gold standard for convenience stores.

I mean look at that logo....gold

Meat Wonderland (a.k.a the jerky counter)

There are more than 24 different varieties of fudge available every day at most Buc-ee’s locations

Buc-ee's rocks. When traveling, I hit up Temple, TX and Rockwall, TX (Royce City) locations. In addition to the above, they also offer a well-stocked coffee bar, as well as 99 cent 20 lb ice bags and 79 cent 10 lb bags.

Amount of available gas pumps is mind-boggling. Royce City, TX location below.

They usually don't put them in metro areas but near them with areas that get a lot of traffic.

I'd guess Walton/Verona, Shepherdsville area, and Hopkinsville(I-24) are on the list for future KY locations.

One going in at Richmond. At I75 and Duncannon exit. 53,000 sq ft and 120 fueling stations.

Are you the manager? Tell us EVERYTHING.

For example, I haven't seen pics of the ice cream situation at Bucees, but I gotta imagine they got more flavors than Baskin Robbins....and I'm somewhat assuming, by gawd, that BLUE BELL is the only ice cream sold in a wonderful Texas-bred establishment like Bucees. Yes?

See you there soon, dude.

You have no idea what you are in for. I'm sure there will be 2-3 more in the state before long.

As the former Mashburned put it - it's like Disney World, CFA and WalMart decided to join forces and build the perfect gas station/convenience store.

Ha. Never heard of it, but I love the description. Will there be a "People of Buc-ees" site emerge?

Speaking of FL convenience stores, Wawa freaking rules.

We have a Wawa here in The Fort out by I-95, but there's usually a million cars there. There's a rumor that the are going to put one at the corner of Okeechobee Rd and US-1 where the old K-Mart was, which is only about a mile and a half from me. We usually use Cumberland Farms, which are okay, but nothing like Wawa.

One cool feature about Wawa stations, aside from their awesome sandwich counter, is free air. I filled several bicycle tires at a nearby Wawa for nothing while vacationing in the Orlando area between 2014-2019. 50 cents and higher everywhere else. Coffee bar is pretty darn good too.

Likely. And they might have their Buc-ee’s shirts on when caught in the wild. I have one but only wear it around the house.

Dippin Dots started in Paducah and was there for a long time. Might still be for all I know.

- Never been in the AM so not sure if Buc-ee’s has a good donut selection or not.

Sorry I missed that thread.

The BBQ sandwich station:

Due to COVID, grab-and-go items such as above were unfortunately unavailable at two locations I visited last year. One must order food from the snack bar. I'm unsure if the policy is system-wide or not.

Royse City(I-30 past Rockwall), the Race Track and Denton locations are wide open every time I’ve been recently.

I've been in the one here a couple of times. Very nice. Cumberland Farms is closer and if you use their app to pay, you get 10 cents per gallon off and reward points. Does Wawa have some sort of program like that? Really hope it's true that we get the one at Okeechobee and US-1.

Stopped at Temple location outbound around 4 am on Nov 21 and nothing sitting out. Stopped again at Royse City coming back on December 1 around 8 pm. Empty.

I'm unsure about Wawa gas programs. Believe it or not, except for renting a car once in 2015, I've used public transportation, rode a bicycle or bummed rides during every other visit to FL over the past 10 years. Orlando, Lakeland and Tampa offer excellent public transportation options.
