That'd be an interesting discussion topic with college athletes. Which do you prefer when playing on the road: waking up and playing a game just a few hours later or having an entire day before a kickoff at night.

Wake up and play. You are in an unfamiliar area location, so getting good rest during the day is not always easy.

every college football player I've ever heard when asked on the topic loves loves loves noon/early afternoon road game. on the road they are in a strange hotel room usually in the middle of nowhere, can't exactly go out shopping or sight seeing......a night road game they are cooped up in the hotel all damn day long with nothing at all to do.

plus the fans in attendance aint gonna be as lubricated & enthusiastic & crazy for 12 noon (11 am Columbia time!) as they would be....as WE should be....after 7 pm.

I like an early game when it a road game, always felt the home crowd not as much as a factor as a later game. Just hope the football CATS don't play like basketball CATS seem to do with real early games. It always seem to me that basketball team though they usually won these early games they just never played as sharp as they did in an evening game.

I've heard many players and coaches say they hate night road games. You sit around in the hotel all day getting zoned out, and then you have to go out there and perform under the lights surrounded by folks who have been enjoying their favorite beverage at their tailgate all afternoon and in a ruckus mood. Most of your big upsets occur by home dogs in night games.

I was thinking that players probably hated it and coaches liked the additional time for prepping. Then again, coaches probably like having all of their prepping done before game day.
