Already down 2-0 going to the second inning. Reed got beat up in that first inning giving up 4 singles.

Another terrible start.

At least it seems like they earned the runs. The start yesterday was the worst I've ever witnessed.

Smart fans wanted Henderson gone 3 years ago.

Sad that the UK brass cares nothing about baseball.

Yet another 1-2-3 inning for UK's batters in the top of the 7th. Down to six outs, they'll send 6-7-8 out to hit in the 8th.

Wonder if this pitiful tournament showing will help in getting a new coach in here?

Unless a miracle happens in the 9th this was an embarrassing two games for UK.

I think after this poor showing, a new coach is warrented. I sure hope that is the case.

Kent State making a pitching change. Carson runs for Reed.

UK just had a strong showing in the SEC tournament, beat 4 #1 teams, and had the National POY. Henderson isn't going anywhere. Lots of top teams going down in regionals and Cohen never got out of a regional either, even when UK hosted. If UK and UL had each others' schedules, UK would have been the 1 seed and host. This isn't football or basketball where you can just bulldoze through people.

Reida singles. We score one, but then get thrown out at the plate trying to score a second run. 4-2 going to B9

Not familiar with college rules, but Reed can stay in the game after being lifted for pinch runner?

Yeah, he's out of the game offensively, but not as a pitcher.

They said on TV that it was because he was the pitcher AND the designated hitter.

Nice win. I'm not sure why the Kent left fielder didn't put out more of an effort on the game winning hit. Gotta lay out for that one, I would think.

Good win!i'm still critical of Henderson's coaching, still say there is a disconnect between players and coaches, and coaches and coaches!Seems to be a lack of cohesiveness within the baseball program, that starts at the top! There should be a critical review of the baseball programs status, concerning these problems, plus the lack of marketing by the staff, and it's inconsistencies !Otherwise ,good win and enjoy it while we can!

There's no disconnect between players and coaches or coaches and coaches. Pay attention to who is coming up and you'll understand why he sends certain guys with two outs. Same thing happened with Bernal yesterday rounding third on an infield single. You'd be amazed how many runs teams steal by being aggressive with two outs. Yes, sometimes you run yourself out of innings, but when you have a .250 hitter coming up next, it's not that bad a risk.

I don't care who's coming up when you are getting to a pitcher and have momentum you don't send a guy from 3rd when the left fielder has the ball 15 - 20 yards from the infield dirt --STUPID!!!!!

Yep! And on Fri. he also got a guy out in a rundown when there was no reason to, I seriously wonder if that coach is visually impaired, has ZERO depth perception.

Yet again, those are common risks 3rd base coaches take in those situations. You don't get to that position without being good at what you do.

Some of you need to stick to trying to critique basketball.

^It's not a black and white issue, depends on depth of outfielder which was too close to send runner home. The plays weren't even close, catcher had time to catch the ball adjust his jockstrap, put a chew in etc. then tag runner out. Did you even watch or were you listening on radio?

You're right, it's not a black and white issue. The odds of scoring on a play at the plate like that are still better than hoping you get a hit from a freshman who just got his first hit today on a bunt single.

Yes, I did watch the play and have seen the replay a few times.

More than just a hit to score, a wild pitch, a fielding error, a walk gives somebody else a chance. The balls weren't hit deep enough to tag, the outs with plenty of time proved it. 3rd base coach was awful.

Funny, that 3rd base coach was good enough for Cohen to bring in and make his 3rd base coach, and good enough for Henderson to keep there.

To play devil's advocate: Bohannon was not good enough for Cohen to take either him or Henderson with him to Miss. State.

That being said, Bohannon has done excellent work for us. Bohannon is the recruiting coordinator and that alone should be enough to keep him around, despite any mistakes he might make in the third base coaching box. Defensively he has also done an outstanding job with our outfield.
