Third game of the series and important if we want to keep tied for best record in the SEC. MSU starting their centerfielder at pitcher. And the bats were there the first inning. Unfortunately the runs weren't. Three hits including two doubles but only 1 run in the top of the 4th. I'm still not liking White at lead-off.

I am only listening. Sounds like the throw would have nailed him on the fly out, I was coming in the house on the single so didn't hear an explanation.

Disappointing start for Lewis. Can't even keep ahead of a centerfielder.

We had runners on 2nd and 3rd and Cottam got a base hit and Pompey scored and Reks didn't attempt. It was a solid base hit to right center just can't believe he couldn't have scored.

I'd have to say that this was a disappointed first inning for Lewis. He's pitching against a centerfielder and we struggle to keep them from scoring? He did manage to keep them to 3 hits with two doubles. The only good thing was leaving the bases full.

Maybe we can use this game to get our batting averages back up. They've dropped 15 points the last three games.

We're squaring it up pretty well today! 4-1 in the second. Some good two out hitting!

A much better 2nd inning all around. 3 runs and 4 hits in the top. Lewis settles in and gets a clean inning. Given the lack of depth in the pitching staff at MSU, we really should take this series.

Darn... Brown gets an RBI double. Never good to give a free pass. Both Auburn and Arkansas are down a single run but they're both fairly early. Seems like we are pretty early too. Not sure Lewis is his sharpest today.

Great... We can't hold a lead against a piecemeal staff...

Dang, we are shooting ourselves in the foot. Our defensive play as a team has been really suspect.

9.0 ERA and we can't seem to touch Jolly up. We've got him down to 6.75. Helping Henderson shape up his bullpen. :-(

We've got Jolly down to a 6.28 ERA with our ineffectiveness. Tennessee has the bases loaded and two outs down 1 on Florida in the 8th inning.

Lead off runner on again. This isn't setting up well. 3rd inning where the first batter gets on. That's a recipe for a loss.

We may yet still be tied for the best record in the SEC after this game but this is has been a pretty sorry performance all around. Bad news when you have to bring your closer in to the game in the bottom of the 6th.

We don't seem to be very good on the road which doesn't portend well with next week going to Missouri. We need to win that one because we have LSU and then @South Carolina after that.

Jolly now down to 5.87 ERA. He had 10 innings pitched and had given up 15 hits 8 base on balls and 2 HBP's. He's had 1 walk through 5 innings. We may turn around his year.

Sheesh! 10-4. We don't look like the top team in the East today.

Worst performance of the season! I agree ,we look intimidated and passive. Starkville must have distracted them last night. I'm sure Mingione is none too happy with this sorry effort!

1-3 since the lineup change. MSU took it to us the last few games. We pitched timid yesterday and played timid in the field today.
I don't like the line up at all. Why have your highest slugging % leading off? I think we were better with Carson, then Pompey.

With the line up as it is, we are stringing in many innings of 0 to 2 runners on with no runs. We need a line up that puts the pressure on the pitcher and this one isn't. We distributed our hitters and speed pretty darn evenly.

Just added one to Jolly's ERA with a 2 run shot by Becker. Got him back up to 6.38 ERA with that one.

McNeill pinch hits for Carson, down on strikes. That means Wilson in the outfield. That's good for him but if we manage to get back in this, he is struggling at the plate.

Can Collett play in the field yet? I know he can pinch hit but they don't even let him run usually.
