I figured there would be a thread tomorrow anyway, so I just went ahead and started it early.

This should be a fun game and I'm looking forward to watching. I give the edge in pure talent to UK, but I also like veteran teams and UNC has that advantage. If Joel Berry is healthy then I like the Heels by five.

No Berry , UK by 18 . Add Berry, UK by 5. Dingleberry, Gary-7 right after the game.

As much as I hate to think this, I actually think UNC keeps it close with a chance to win. And I really hate feeling that way, but UK plays undisciplined ball and UNC will have some chances to capitalize. Of course that is if Joel Berry plays. Watch Nate Britt blow up.

You're nuts. If Berry plays it's a completely different team- he plays I got a toss up and will say U.K. Wins by 4. If he doesn't play U.K. Wins by 13.

You got it all wrong. Berry's gotta play for UNC to have a shot. 3-4 point loss if he plays. 13-15 if he doesn't.

I'm in this camp, I think UNC wins with Berry, I still think its close without him.

UNC might quit loafing and go after this game hard. When they do that they can stay close with just about every one. Guess we will see if UK is really any good at all or a young team that needs to play alot more games to compete for a Final 4 spot.

I think UNC edges out UK for the reason Dukehokie gave. UK just plays out of control sometimes, but I will be chanting that silly go big blue chant on Saturday evening. That's about the only time I will chant it is when they play UNC.

I think uk will beat with or without berry. Uk is better at every position on the court than unc. That kinda matters in basketball. I think Unc having more experience will keep the game somewhat close but I expect uk to win by 10 to 14 points. I think this unc team is alot like past duke teams that peaked in Nov but fell off as the season went along .

If it was true, it would matter. But it's not true.
Let's see

Meeks vs bam advantage uk
Gabriel vs Hicks advantage uk but close
Briscoe vs jackson advantage uk but close. Neither player is that great

Monk vs Williams or Britt huge advantage uk
Fox vs berry advantage uk even though berry has the experience and is a good college player.

I'm not that high on unc. I think they are what they are. To me Meeks and Hicks are no better than what they have been the last few years. Jackson is still not consistent. I think Berry is a really good college point guard that has gotten better.

If we are talking right now, you got to take Berry over Fox and I don't think it is close. Berry is averaging around 11.3 blown assist a game.

Personally I take J.Jackson and Hicks too, I would take UK's bench though.

I guess Im looking at a strictly talent prospective . I just don't think jackson or Hicks are that good. That don't scare me against good teams

Bam is raw. Very raw. I'll give him a slight edge over Meeks, though.

Hicks over Gabriel.

Jackson and Briscoe isn't close. It's Jackson all day.

Monk over whoever....I agree there.

Fox has better NBA prospects than Berry, but tomorrow is a college game....and Berry is a better college player, at this point, than Fox.

UK with the bench advantage. UNC with the huge veteran advantage.

I think your overrating some of the unc guys. There is a reason why none of them have a first round grade even though they have been in school for 3 or 4 years. I hate uk almost as much as unc but they have a huge talent edge in this matchup. Experience is what gives unc the chance and the fact that uk can't shoot besides monk

I pretty much agree with everything however Berry is coming off an ankle sprain which may make him and Fox a push

I have been reading alot about the fabulously elite 3 freshman for UNC. Woods, Robinson, Bradley and the amazing sophmore Kenny Williams. I suspect with their kind of talent they should shine brightly today and show why they were chosen to represent UNC. Probably slice and dice the UK freshman, teach them rankings don't matter.

I'm not overrating the UNC guys....you're downplaying them. Their NBA prospects have nothing to do with the game today.

But it has something to do with their ceiling though.their ceiling is not as high as other teams. I think Unc will be the same team in March that they are today. I think people underrate the loss of Paige against good teams. He made alot of big shots for them. I don't think this unc team is as good as the best teams this year. Against the best teams I don't trust Meeks or Hicks or jackson that's just my opinion.

All 3 of those guys played well throughout the tourney last year. Will it be enough? That's essentially up to Monk, Fox and Briscoe. The bigs in this game won't decide anything.

By that logic it would mean guys like Amile, Grayson and Luke are incapable of making improvements too. That seems silly to me. I do like our ceiling more, but I can't pretend UNC doesn't get better because I don't like them. They're a really good team now and will improve.

The reason I said they won't be different in March than what they are now is because Meeks Hicks and jackson are the same players now that they have been the last few years. Amile and Kennard are actually much better players now than what they were previous . Kennard is actually getting a first round grade now. So he is becoming a better player. My point is I don't see the development with unc players. If we are healthy we are better at every position on the floor against them.

Giles vs Meeks advantage duke. Giles has to be healthy so that's a wait and see

Amile vs Hicks advantage duke

Tatum vs jackson advantage duke
Kennard vs bitt/ Williams advantage duke

Allen vs berry advantage duke even though berry is a very good player and the one unc guy that I like a very good college point guard

Yeah that's where the game will be decided and why I think uk will win. I think monk and fox will own this Game
