#1? That's nice, but not so fast my friend. My guess is undefeated Bama is #1, Clemson is #2, Miami jumps to #3, OU moves up to #4 and Wisky gets #5. Immediately after the announcement, Barry Alvarez has a brain aneurysm.

OU could get jumped by Wisky, but I don't see that happening with their weak schedule. They'll get their chance with Michigan, Minnesota and the B1G Championship coming up. If OU stays ahead of Miami, the stinking Canes will have to get past Virginia, Pittsburgh and Clemson in the ACC Championship Game.

OU needs to take care of KU, WVU and win the B12 and I think they'll be in the CFP.

Lots of scenarios that can be talked about right now.
Say Auburn beats Bama and then plays Georgia in the SEC title game where Georgia gets payback. You then have a one loss SEC Champ, Georgia and a one loss Bama team. Would they leave a one loss Bama out? Another scenario, Bama beats Auburn and then loses to Georgia in the SEC Title game. Both teams have one loss, do they leave Bama out after that? I know they would not want to but probably would.
Miami wins out they are in, Wisconsin would have to win out to get in. An OU loss to TCU or Okie Lite in Big 12 title game and OU is out and no Big12 rep in the the playoffs.
If Auburn wins out they would possibly be the only 2 loss team in the playoffs.
My head is spinning, let em play and see where the chips may fall. No matter what happens the last few weeks there will be some controversy over who is in and who is left out I am sure.

Good luck to OU, if WVU doesn't win the Big XII, I hope OU does. I certainly believe OU is one of the top 4 but you guys have got to see beyond Herbie the OSU Shill's shenanigans when he says he thinks you are number 1? He's only doing it to manipulate the system to the benefit of his beloved Buckeyes. The higher OU is ranked the better it looks for OSU after they beat Wisconsin in the Big X CCG. If you make it into the playoffs I hope you kick their a** again!

Herbie is not on the committee so its only his opinion. Most here couldn't care less about where OU is ranked among the 4 just as long as we make it is ok by me if we are at 4. A lot of football left to be played so I guess we will see if we make it at all.

Agree, all you need is to be in the top four and any spot of the four is an honor. My issue is not with OU, it's with ESPN and Herbie the Shill. You are correct, he's not on the committee and has no vote but he has a microphone and an ESPN stage. I just don't like how ESPN tries to manipulate the system for the SEC, ACC, and B1G to the detriment of the Big XII and how Herbie does the same for OSU. It is so apparent it's an insult to the intelligence of the college football fan. No offense meant against OU, just sick of the bias and manipulation.

Dude, Herbstreit has been one of the biggest OU supporters at ESPN for the last 15+ years. He has always been high on OU. So him putting OU at #1 isn't a huge deal, and certainly nothing to start fueling some sort of Pro-OSU conspiracy theory. Good grief....

Dude, I can tell from your tone we are coming at this from two entirely different perspectives with no middle ground. Since it's your board, I'll bow out. Hope Herbie doesn't come after OU's spot in the playoffs cause it's tough to fight a guy with a 3000 mile long cord on his microphone. Good luck!

That's good. Cuz as an OU fan, I've noticed what Herbstreit has said about OU over the years. And he is by far the biggest OU supporter not only at ESPN, but in the sports media in general. Does sunshine pump OU at all times? Of course not. But he sides with OU, and Bob Stoops over the years, far more than he talks OU down.

So this recent event of him putting OU as his #1 may come as a surprise to you, but it isn't to alot of OU fans. And to think it's part of a conspiracy to bump out OU and sneak Ohio State in is absurd. And for clarity, we are talking about the same Herbstreit that had to move out of the Columbus area some years ago when he so ticked off the Ohio State fanbase by speaking the truth about the Tressel scandal.
