Back in 2007 I remodeled the kitchen at my townhouse. My dad and I did the whole thing from demo to done in a 4 day weekend. When I sold the place years ago my realtor took photos and those photos got onto real estate links to my place and that kitchen has sold the place a couple times since then. I would have done a few things different but all in all not a bad job for my first DIY project.

I started out planning what I was going to create for my chicken coop this early summer. Cut the boards prior to digging the 4x4 fencepost holes for the run. Fun, I found the location where someone buried all kinds of trash from prior builds/teardowns here, metal, springs, roofing, you name it. After a half day in 95 degree heat, I decided screw it, the holes are going wherever I can. It is not square, is not level, but the damn thing will protect my chickens.

DIY jobs go there every time. Most of it to make the Mrs. happy.

I'm spending my weekend pouring a concrete bar top in my basement.

Then it's back to finishing the theater. I like doing these things on my own, but it takes me more and more time.

I am installing floors and painting. So far this project is 10 month in and I have completed about 3 weeks of work.

Luckily for me the house itself is in a very good shape for us. Almost all of my work is outside, cutting trees, planting different trees, making it our own.

That's enough, though.

We have had the house for 8 years now and we are making some cosmetic changes. I wish I had just paid the builder to install wood floors then but oh well. Now I get to break my back.
