Seeing if any of you duke fans have any intel on the latest Kevin Knox recruitment news. I know hes visiting UNC this weekend and I had heard before I was booted from THI that he was planning a march decision. Curious what the feeling was from dukes perspective on where he might be leaning.

Haha they booted u?

I think Knox ends up at unc. He won't decide until after the season though is my guess.

Things have quieted down around him and I'm not sure exactly what that means. But my guess would be that he's made up his mind at least 90% of the way. Which way that is, I don't know. He seemed really high on UNC not too long ago so gun to my head I think that's where he is still leaning.

UK selling him that he can play SG there next year... it's what Knox wants to hear but it won't benefit Kentucky much because he is clearly not a 2. Unfortunately I wouldn't count them out.

They sure did haha. Some really tightly wound control freaks over there unfortunately.
Anyways, I hope you are right. Might be the most important recruitment UNC has had in quite some times, for many reasons.

Before the season D"long post"Southr said Knox will wait til after the season to see if Justin Jackson and Tatum are turning pro. I said he may wait, but it wouldn't be to see if Tatum was going to go pro because that was pretty much a foregone conclusion. You can imagine the mocking and name calling that resulted. I wonder if Knox is still waiting to see if Tatum goes pro before he makes his decision.

Ehh not sure he's a "game changer" anyway really from what some have said if he comes here great if not I won't cry.. now Duvall I might cry over him lol

we definitely need him. it'll be like having kyrie all over again. a super explosive kyrie. i don't know what took Coach K so long to offer him anyway.

If unx does land knox, he will be preseason all american and the greatest recruit in the history of college basketball. A future top 50 all NBA.

Maybe he wants one of those coveted UNC AFAM degrees instead of getting into the NBA after one year!

honestly if he doesn't come to duke with UNC sanctions pending and their inability to get top prospects into the NBA after one year (barnes, jackson, etc.) he should go elsewhere.

His high school was the issue. Switched to a not sketchy high school in the fall

Duke definitely has made Knox the priority at SF. I believe it's down to Duke and FSU. He has ties to FSU both parents played there and they also have a SF now that compares to him Issac. I know he has being watching Tatum, Issac, and Jackson will come down to which school he feels will allow him the most opportunity to shine.
Fingers crossed he choices Duke but FSu seems like the best option if we land Duval and kennard or Grayson stay. Not enough shots to go around.

I guess Kennard but I don't envision a scenario where Grayson stays. Earlier in the year it was possible as he was struggling and was sliding in the mock drafts. He's been playing at an all American caliber lately and he's going to get his degree. He's gone. If Luke gets a first round grade he will go too IMO. His stock will never be higher and his defense will never get better.

Grayson's not in the first round of any and one he's not even projected. And don't give me the "Luke can't improve his stock" crap. JJ could of left early and went the same area Luke is currently projected but he stayed and went in the lotto

Seems like he would fill in nicely for UNC, with Jackson's expected departure. I would like to have him, for sure. I do like that we still have 82% of the crystal ball projections, but if I'm not mistaken, we had 100% of the predictions just 2-3 months ago. Jerry Meyer still has Duke as his pick, so I think I'll stay with that pick for the time being.

Different times. Today's game is all about upside and athleticism. Luke is a prolific scorer. He is a sub par defender and he's not overly quick or athletic. He could be ACC player of the year this year. His stock will hit its peak by year's end. I will include IMO because nothing is a certainty.

Grayson's recent play hasn't hit the mock drafts yet but if he continues through the end of the year which I fully expect he will be right back where he started the year. Again IMO. His value is slightly higher than Luke's because although Luke is a better scorer Grayson is more athletic and although he isn't a great defender he isn't a complete liability either.

Just a FYI, if you don't take such aggressive positions and attack people like players or in this case me (your original response feels that way) people likely won't be so quick to point out how wrong you are which has been frequent lately.

To get back to the topic of the thread, Im reading that Knox will be attending the second unc-duke game. I am hesitant because of all of our recent recruiting misses, but I would assume thats a somewhat positive sign for unc.

Different times? You honestly don't believe that the NBA 10 year ago drafted on upside or athleticism? Right.. and if they haven't hit the mock drafts yet they sure aren't doing it right considering some i looked at were updated yesterday. Take all the slights you want pal but you're wrong

Guess it's possible
Although I feel like if he was visiting you guys again just a few weeks after his official visit to watch the game you might be saying something else entirely.
I don't think it's a bad thing for unc.
