How does basketball success equate to football? And how good it feels.

Tourney bid = B1G championship game.

Getting out of first weekend = low tier bowl win.

Sweet 16 = mid tier bowl win versus power 5 team

Elite 8 = New Year’s Day bowl win

Final 4 = Rose Bowl/CFP semis

Championship game = CFP finals

Frankly, I’d put the conference championship game third in priority, ahead of lower-tier bowl wins.

Making a Sweet 16 is a big deal. Bowl wins are great, but they're a capper, a celebration - even the NY6 games, which I agree are a major accomplishment. Here, every win but the last one means you play on. Hard to capture that drama with a football comparison.

Kopp had a good game for Indiana today. I think this is an example of the dangers of social media. Miller's parting shot caused him a lot of animosity. "The university lost a lot of respect for him when he took it."

I don't know anything about him personally, but he comes across as thin-skinned. At this level of the game, he needs to let it roll off his back.

He hit a clutch 3 and had a late steal in their win today against Illinois. He also committed some dumb fouls and had a brain fart on D at the end. He is what he is.

These are way off and only make sense on a curve for Northwestern bball. Making the tournament is more akin to our bowl loss streak. Winning a mediocre bowl game is the sort of things normal schools do all the time, but NU struggled with in historical fashion.

To me, west division championships and non-Rose NY6 are more akin to Sweet Sixteen appearances. Rose Bowl is maybe elite eight.
