Why do we keep pitting these guys against each other in popularity polls? They’re teammates, and I hope they don’t read these boards.

Beran is in development mode with 3 other exellent players with 3 more seasons. He will be an important player on a team that will make the NCAA tourney. The extra inch he has on Kopp allows him to play the 4 or 3 spot. Kopp is good but I would take Beran and the extra year. I hope they both get a chance to make the NCAA. Program definitely has good young talent.

Kopp because his skill set is unique on the team. If he can develop his dribble to take advantage of defenders overplaying the 3, he's going to be awesome.

Kopp is a good player with a great stroke from 3. However at this time he cannot really create his own shot. At this point his game is a one trick pony. If he is able to develop moves to the basket then he will be much harder to defend. Beran has not scored much but watching him play, he has all the tools to be a potential transcendent player. He is quick, a decent handle, passes well and can jump out of the gym. He needs experience and to gain some muscle. I would not be surprised if he makes a huge jump next year. Kopp is good but I think his upside is not as high. I hope I’m wrong and he becomes a complete player which would make him and the team even more dangerous.

We seem to talk a lot about evaluating and comparing players—who should start, who should sit, who should get the ball more, who shouldn’t, who is going to be great in a year or two, who may not be, who has big ten talent and who may be physically limited. Are we going to stop judging, evaluating, comparing altogether?

My lines in the sand are I never make it personal or an attack or get pissed at players, I stick to basketball and remember it’s just a game. There is a lot of participation in the polls and very little negativity so that’s why I like them.

Show me the more consistent player, and that's the guy who should start ... next year.

For now Beran is young with promise. Kopp is all or nothing with promise.

kopp is leading the team in scoring so there is a bit more proof in the pudding with him.

How about an offense that creates shots ?
