KU has won the Big 12 this year already

I watched half of the game between Baylor and Iowa state last night. These teams are highly ranked but I don't think they are mentally strong as a team. They have the talent to beat anyone. The media keeps telling us that the big 12 is the best conference in America (6 or 7 ranked teams). KU beat Baylor on the road and ok st at home last week. KU has mentally broken the teams in the big 12. None of these teams seem to bring their A game against the jayhawks. Most find some crazy way to lose or collapse to Ku on a nightly basis. They should hire a sports shrink to get their minds right.

It is not even close to UK in the sec. Every sec team normally plays way over its head against Kentucky. They really get up for the UK game. In the event UK gets beat, that team might lose its next 2 or 3 games and shoot 30-40 points below the % they shot against UK. UK never gets any calls from the refs. KU on the other hand seems to get every call. I think this helps us in the tournament and hurts ku. GBB

Big 12 has been overrated for years. That's why KU owns the conference and the Big 12 teams fold fast in the Big Dance. Yet you will hear talking heads saying the Big 12 is strong again.

Continuing their streak of winning the Big 12 certainly seems more likely than it did a few weeks ago. It's amazing when you think about it that none of those other schools can manage to win a title. Say what they will about the SEC, but we usually have at least one other team to contend with. Speaking of which, despite their poor start, don't count the Gator's out just yet. They may very well join UK as the only SEC teams at 3-0 tonight. That game is Gainesville has been circled on my calendar since the schedule came out. I want that one. BAD.

I would have to say the ACC is better.

With the new additions, that conference is BRUTAL!

The refs give them a hand also. Last game versus Oklahoma St. Kansas shot more free throws than field goals. First time I had ever seen that personally.

Oklahoma St. had 11 guys with 2 fouls or more
Kansas was 16-43 from the field and 32-46 from the free throw line.
32 of their 67 pts came from the free throw line

I really thought Texas would challenge Kansas this year, but it looks like they've been "Rick Barnesed" earlier than usual.

Look out for West Virginia...they're starting to stack up wins, and they apparently go 11 deep.

Would not surprise me if West Virginia and Huggins ends up in our bracket come tournament time.

Teams in the Big 12 seem to do just the opposite of teams in the SEC,we get thier best shot while everyone lays down for KU.

UF 3-0 start may be a bit of fools gold, the next 4 or 5 will tell the tale for them.

Kansas has won the league 12 years in a row...

NOT the best regular season conference!

I think the more accurate take on the Big 12 is that it only has one truly bad team in Texas Tech.

Outside of Tech, the rest of the conference seems to show well in the commonly-cited predictive metrics.

For instance, Kenpom currently ranks the other nine teams as:

1. WVU - 10th
2. Oklahoma - 12th
3. Kansas - 14th
4. Iowa State - 16th
5. Baylor - 19th
6. Oklahoma State - 24th
7. Texas - 31st
8. TCU - 51st
9. Kansas State - 94th

So while the conference may lack a truly elite team to challenge Kansas or contend for a national title, it is easy to see why analysts are predicting the Big 12 to get at least seven teams into the dance.

And after the season is over, most people will likely conclude that Big 12 basketball was a paper tiger, much like the SEC West was in football this year.
