Got a buddy that wants us to pull my boat to Ky. Lake sometime from Mid April to early May to crappie fish for 4 days. I never been to Ky. Lake so does anyone have recommendations for Resorts/Marinas/Camping and area to fish?

Thanks

Hillman Ferry has a place you can put in. It's primitive camping- but with electrical hookups.
As with most state parks, call ahead and they'll give you all the information you need. I'd start with Hillman Ferry because it's at the northernmost tip of Kentucky Lake.

Is anyone in your family a state employee? They have nice place to stay at KY damn village for cheap if you can get hooked up by state employee's.

We rent a 4 bedroom cottage for $90 when we go and it is right on the marina.

As far as fishing the poster above is right about hillmans ferry, and there are others but I'm not a vet down there. The locals will tell you if you ask.

I can get Sr. Citizen discount at Ky. Dam Village. I think we might go that route.

Can you even find crappie among the carp?
Been years ago but the biggest crappie I've seen was caught by some old local who lived on Anderson Creek area.

Ky Dam State park also has a veterans discount. Nice marina there to put in. Moors or Big Bear would probably be good options, plus lots of locals that could help put you on the fish.

Not sure if you are drinkers but we just went wet in the county so you can enjoy a cold one with dinner after a day on the lake.
