Please call/email/write/smoke signal your local senators and ask them to at least vote on Senate Bill 47 which would allow Medicinal Marijuana for Kentuckians. You can leave a message for your senator at the hotline below:

1 (800) 372-7181

Or you can find them here:

Senate Members by District
Too many R's on that list for it to have any shot at passing.

Somewhat related but how many of you remember the pothead in high school whose report/presentation was always about why they should legalize weed and the history of weed?

You couldn't get these guys to do anything else but when it came to this topic, they were like Rain Man with it.

Once saw a reporter ask Damon Thayer if it had a shot since polls showed the vast majority of Kentuckians favored medical use. He seemed surprised that the reporter thought that mattered and just said that the legislature doesn’t have to respond to the will of the people. I know he’s technically right but you would think he wouldn’t say it in public.

I’m a cannabis advocate who’s been working with other cannabis groups on this legislation.

Thayer and Stivers are what’s held it up and will be what’s holding it up. This kind of **** is why the commonwealth style of government sucks. We can’t just put it on the ballot and let the voters decide. We have to rely on these corrupt dinosaurs in the general assembly to do it for us. They only do what their lobbyists grease their palms to do.

So no different than the Federal level?

Yeah. But with other states being able
to put things like this on the ballot for a vote, we look like backwards idiots living in 1833, especially when our elected representatives enact “the will of my masters” instead of “the will of the people.”

Medical cannabis has broad bipartisan support north of 75 percent in Kentucky, yet two ancient **** stains have the power to hold it up because of an archaic style of government. It’s frustrating.

The stuff the pill pushers write scrips for are way worse and more addictive so I don't get why they would be so against it. I mean I get that and I am a conservative and have never taken a toke in my life.

Honestly, it’s part the pressure of certain special interests (bourbon, pharma, law enforcement) and part the stigma from older ways of thinking.

My parents are in their late 70s. Both were “devil’s lettuce” type my whole life because that’s what they were taught. When I was 18 they found a small bag of (bad brown) weed and a pipe in my room and you would’ve thought I was strung out on crack robbing liquor stores by their reaction. Then, 20 years later, one of their closest friends - a retired career Army man and Vietnam vet - was diagnosed Stage III pancreatic cancer with metastasis and he used cannabis to help with pain and nausea/low appetite after chemo/radiation. The prescription meds made him sicker. The plant helped. He lost his battle, but was able to get a little relief in his final months. That really changed their tune and they’ve admitted they were taught bad propaganda in school and now support medical use and responsible adult recreational use.

I keep some on hand most of the time. It helps my migraines more than any pill I’ve taken and is probably the best cure for insomnia out there.

Having known a few Stivers, I believe in evolution again.

If only there were some way to remove these clowns. It really is unbelievable how 2 clowns can undermine the will of the people…. A very solid majority of the people ( which almost never happens).

Footage of Kentuckians as soon as they cross the bridge into Cincinnati.
