I watched Murray over the seasons at Allen. He had all of the tools, but I didn't think that he would be a college quarterback at a passing school. In some respects, he was like a smaller Thomas Lott. He didn't pass often, and he was erratic.
But, every time I saw him, he seemed to have learned to do what I didn't think he would do. He learned to pass pretty well, despite not really finding it necessary. His team had so much talent that they could score at will with several players. He wasn't really under pressure to improve. But, he did. He was always dangerous as a runner.
He kind of convinced me that he might just be able to do the job. We really haven't seen him in a situation in which he had to pass in order to keep the offense moving. Yet, I've seen him learn enough to think he will find a way. I think he will be better than we had any reason to believe. He is more than just the super-quick runner from a highly talented team. I don't think he will be a Baker. I wouldn't be surprised if he performed just as well or better.
