Kyler Murray and plans

I was thinking about how Sooners could use Murray in offense scheme. He is so athletic that he needs to see the field. Will be interesting to see what wrinkles Riley has with Perine and Mixon departed. Any thoughts?

If Murray emerges as the second string QB, he won't play another position. That would likely mean Kendall gets redshirted along with freshman Robison.

Why can't Murray play another position if he's the backup QB? Tannehill was the starting wide receiver @ A&M when he was the backup QB a few years ago and just a couple of years ago the backup QB at KSU started at WR. If Murray is the best slot receiver on the team, why not take advantage of his athleticism?

Murray might play as a WR. Did he take any reps during spring drills at a different position ?
I would be hesitant to see him play WR if he is the lone backup at QB. Just an opinion.

Lincoln Riley has been adamant in stating that Kyler was a QB and that he would not be moved to another position. Wouldn't be surprising to see Kyler running Blake Bell/wildcat kind of packages. For sure I'm hoping that Kyler sees the field a great deal in meaningful action. He has serious skills that were displayed at the spring game. Would be great for Baker to win the heisman trophy but team goals for this year and next should come first. IMO

The staff may have been blowin' smoke, but they have repeated that he's a quarterback and that's all.
