He wasn't joking. He even took a step further and said something along the lines of "Some basics truths that people take for granted are lies".

I thought I heard at the end of the podcast he said that the earth is round and that it was just interesting to question things or something. The next time they're in a plane, one of his teammates should show him you can actually see the curvature of the earth out the window.

He's just making a point about how silly it is that people take great interest in celebrity's beliefs. He is also just asking people to investigate things for themselves instead of trusting the news.

While he is off on the whole earth thing, he still makes a good point. You should investigate for yourself and not just take for granted what has been taught or told you to be true. To put it simply: Do you think our government or any government has any reason to lie to its citizens?

On another note, for the world to be so open-minded nowadays people are quick to label someone as crazy when that person believes differently than them. What happened to tolerance and inclusion? Or does that only exist if you buy into the liberal mainstream agenda?

Conservative mainstream media also pushes their agenda. The issue here is "mainstream" aka corporate interests. The two parties are one in the same and on top of that mess, we have a rogue in the Whitehouse. I think media bias is fine as long as everyone is aware of it. I liked the Bill Mahr thing with Breitbart the other day. Let's just acknowledge the bias and consider all viewpoints.

I don't mean mainstream as in media or corporate entities. I meant more as in the general direction of public opinion/beliefs. If you look back to the times of civil rights, there has been a mainstream liberal agenda. You could probably even substitute liberal for inclusive and it would be mean the same thing. Liberal is just the label that gets attached to it. It continues today with the LGBT movement, BLM, and others. Even PETA, for better and worse in some cases, is still representing that continued mainstream liberal agenda.

I get your point about tolerance and inclusion, being open minded, etc. Trust me, I'm all for that. But when you believe something that is verifiably, empirically wrong, you should adjust your understandings accordingly. The point of being open minded is a willingness to listen to every side and take in multiple viewpoints, not to simply stay open minded for the sake of open mindedness. Often times you have to let your understandings rest upon the knowledge, time, and effort that others have already put in for you.

At the end of the day, we're talking about someone who may not think the world is round. The understanding requires effort to remain ignorant.

Think Kyrie is messing with the media just to show how far they will take something that is ridiculous. It may have back fired on him some though. There are probably some out there including the media that really believes he believes the world is flat. OFC

The NBA commissioner sort of said the same thing. Said Kyrie was having a good time with the "fake news" stuff that is a hot topic right now.

If you read or listened to any of his comments, you can tell that is not what he is talking about unless he is really taking it to the extreme. He mentioned all sorts of stuff about planets, NASA, etc.
