Deja vu: A Giants baseball fan was also beaten into coma by Dodgers fans about 10 years ago. The fans were sentenced to prison and the Dodgers found guilty of negligence. I think the fan survived but still has health problems.

So he started it by pushing a rams fan and the guy pushed him back and hit him and he fell. End of fight.
Initial reports led a person to believe the innocent Niners fan was ambushed and had boots put to him by a roving band of Rams enforcers. Turns out the Niners fan started it by pushing a Rams fan. It would have been nothing more than a stupid parking lot confrontation had the guy not fallen and hit his head.

Pretty much, although the Rams fan is being charged. Throwing a punch when the guy turns around is still verboten, even in LA. I wonder if the real reason he's being charged is because the Super Bowl is coming up and the city wants to look like they're doing something. I mean, they let the Rams fan drive himself to the police station. Also, what happened to all the Niners fans, did they just leave the guy lying there and walk away?

It is football. They always say in football that it isn’t the guy who starts it who gets the penalty. The refs see the guy who retaliates and throw the flag.
