On the blog: Lafayette's Jedrick Wills chosen to play in next year's U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Big honor http://bit.ly/1VGUCNF

Wills — a 6-foot-5 offensive tackle — is regarded as one of the top prospects nationally in the class of 2017, and his scholarship offers include Kentucky, Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State and several other programs.

This comes as no surprise to me at all. I wonder if anyone else from our state will make it next year? Who are the top 2017 instate players besides Wills?

It's nice seeing the Lexington area producing some top level talent here recently. I wish it would consistently do so, this would help recruiting immensely.

I don't know Wills personality, but how nice would it be for him to commit early and start recruiting guys a la Drake Jackson last year?

Cole Bentley had a good showing at the underclassmen AAA activities this year, any chance he positions himself for an invite?

Jackson, Young, and Wills are a historical aberration. It could be a long time before we see that kind of talent around here again. To be successful, Stoops and Marrow must keep killing it in Ohio and also pull a couple of good players out of Florida, Georgia, Tennessee each year. Getting true big time talent out of Kentucky is the gravy on the steak.
