On whether Penn State is hiding their full playbook...
"To a degree, that's *kind of* a thing, but not really. You play your plays. Is Oregon keeping their playbook limited?" ... "You can add in little wrinkles, but it's not as if you're hiding this big, grand scheme offense that we just haven't seen. Once again, you look at Oregon, you look at Ohio State, they're still running their offense against these teams. There's little things that you may not throw in. We have this certain play where we're trying to hit this deep post-route, and hey, we might save that for Oregon, yes, that might be a thing. But in overall offense, you don't just completely hide that. That doesn't exist."
On whether players phone it in against cupcake opponents...
"Yes and no. You come into those games early in the year and you're like, 'let's get out of this by halftime.' I'll say 'yes' to a degree, you do have that, 'Hey, I'm not taking this super-serious, we're gonna kick these guys' butts and let's get out by the 3rd quarter.' But when you have had two games like you did against Nevada and FIU, you do not have that mindset coming into today against Villanova. At this point, it is dead-serious, and there is no joking around. There is no laughing. You need to be locked-in saying, 'I want to prove something.'"
On whether CJF is "too loyal"/feels committed to sticking with players beyond the point where it's reasonable to do so...
"[CJF] is a loyal person. And when you pay someone a lot of money through NIL, you feel beholden to continue to give them more chances. It's kind of the whole 5-star thing, but just magnified a lot more. When you bring in a 5-star, he naturally gets way more chances than a 3-star. Same thing in the NFL. If you're a 1st round pick, because of the capital spent on you, you get so many more opportunities than a 5th round draft pick. That's just how it works."
