Landon Tengwall talks with Spider Caldwell

Wifey and I and a few friends went to watch this interview last week at Your Cigar Den. Finished up moments before the big storm roared through.

I've gotten to know Landon a little - terrific young man. I know Spider some as well - none better. Getting these 2 great personalities together creates PSU nostalgia gold!
Hope you enjoy it.

Landon had one with Rogers Alexander a couple weeks back. Really fun.

Rogers was there at the Spider chat. I knew him briefly about 10 or so years ago, because he knew some folks at the company I was working for. I said hello and mentioned that old connection, he politely said he remembered me, but I'm not 100% sure! ;) Regardless, we chatted a bit. He's a nice guy. Lives in State College.
I'm surprised as I continue to learn about how many former players live here, at least part time. Many full time.

Nice interview with Rogers. However, time changes one's memory of things. Freshmen became eligible in 1971, not 1982.

Were cigars smoked?
Landon got though part of one. It was tough to keep it lit as he talked. Spider abstained. There may have been a couple others going within the small audience as well, I can't recall for sure. Landon had a glass of wine (the other sponsor) as well. Spider abstained there, too. Regardless of the consumption, the wine and cigar were nice props for the talk's purpose and atmosphere.

The Den itself was not overly smokey - I'm sure they have the necessary ventilation system in place and working well. They also left doors open to help circulate the air. I thought it was really good given it's a cigar shop and lounge!

My one buddy and I often have a cigar at our tailgate, and wifey is not always pleased with how the smoke drifts back into car. I will go back there to get some for the season. Wifey was pleasantly surprised by how well the ventilation worked at the event, as was my friend's wife. You basically didn't notice it or think about it after a minute or so inside.

Anyway, it was a fun hour. Anyone local should look into when he will be there again. Landon is very approachable and likes to meet and engage with his listeners. His gf is his manager, and is also easy to talk with.

Yes, retired except for a little consulting here and there. I don't actively pursue it, though.
We moved here full-time summer 2021 into the townhouse we've had since 2011. We are enjoying the relaxed pace of the town and area while enjoying many of the activities and events available.
If you get to the area sometime, let me know. I'd enjoy getting a beer with you.

Thanks.

I remember meeting your lovely wife at a function in KoP. I think your daughter was also there.
