Just got done listening to his interview. He was asked why he called a pass play on the first drive before the INT. His response that it was third and four and it’s a play they always complete in practice. What are the chances he really though it was third and four before calling the play?

The play call was fine....if he gets his head around it is going for a first down. .....but I agree with the sentiment.
They always complete in practice because our DBs play ten yards off the damn line of scrimmage. When we do it in a real game the DBs play unfair and get up on the line of scrimmage. Plus Langs is so damn predictable, their whole team knew that play was coming.
Should have asked him if Ozigbo was the best back to have in for that play.
90,000 people in the stadium and everyone watching on television knew it was’t. But who knows maybe he had no idea. I would believe that.
Didn’t really mind the playcall despite us getting nice yardage off runs on the drive...but that’s a serious red flag if he actually thought we needed 4 yards for the first.
Not to argue the point too much, but if they knew it was coming they should have jumped the route like NIU did... they got the pick six, but they got it because of a bad bounce, not because they were looking for the play.
true.... not to concerned about it at this point because none of these guys are going to be around next year. I wish them nothing but the best.
It was 3rd and 2. That’s my point. Did our OC call a play thinking we needed 4? Maybe he forgot, who knows...but you would think he would remember that crucial call. Also wouldn’t surprise me if he really thought we needed 4 because well...he is out of his league.
You guys are not being fair. Any coach will tell you that three years is not enough time to properly learn how to complete a screen pass. I swear some of you expect our coaches to be miracle workers.
These guys make millions and you expect them to remember down and distance yardage on big 3rd down plays. This is exactly why I never care if cf coaches get fired. They make so much more money than they are worth...anybody who has been around coaches know they aren't brilliant surgeons or physicists, they are just guys that because of some talent with football and a whole bunch of cronyism has found themselves making millions.
Wilbon's hurt. Bryant is hurt. Bradley I think is dinged up too. Who you gonna put in there. Devine can catch the danged ball but he has to get his head around. He knew it was coming to him and he didn't look quick enough.
Devine ran too flat of a route to begin with IMO which necessitated the ball being delivered where it was. (been there done that) That pass has to be "hot" but it could have been a little more in front of him. It was a really unlucky play for sure. Normally you would expect that ball to sail over his head if he misses it. IMO Lee is gun shy of getting that sideline pass picked so he put it where he thought only Devine could catch it.
Danny Langsdorf is always about the QB performance. How the offense does, is really quite secondary to him and the way he thinks. It's almost as if his concern is really more about the QB as an individual than the offense as a team. He lights up talking about how sharp Tanner Lee was, and will go to sleep at night feeling good, because that's the only part he cares about. He's more QB coach than Offensive Coordinator, and I'm not sure how good of a QB coach he is either. Next.
So I have to ask, when you and others type some of this stuff, do you seriously believe it or are you just attempting to be controversial?

It was yet another of many inaccurate passes that our ****** QB has thrown this year. You don't throw the ball at your receivers head. You throw it out in front of him so he can either turn it upfield or continue to the outside after he catches it.
I don't claim to know much, so take this for what it's worth, but is it possible Ozigbo ran the route on a different line than he was supposed to?
It's actually what I got out of watching his interview.. it kind of dawns on me that the offense is like an afterthought for him. The receivers are someone else's problem, the lineman, someone else's problem, the running backs, same thing. So yeah, that is exactly what I got from the interview.
Spot on. That is a quick hitting play and if Ozigbo wasn't so flat in that route the play would have been right on. That is why they practice those plays over and over. It is little things like that that kill a team.
Agree. And if you watch it on replay, the pass was a little hot and slightly behind him (not excusing Zig - it was a catchable ball). I wonder if Lee wasn't affected by the pick 6 he threw against NIU, and didn't want to lay it out in front of Zigbo for fear of another one. And, of course, it happened anyway. Just a thought!
