WCS has already made several 1st team AA lists. It is going to be close but IF he makes the majority of lists (as a 1st teamer) he would be a consensus AA. He is currently averaging 8.9 ppg. The last time a player made 1st team AA as a consensus choice averaging less than double figures US troops were closing in on Hitler in March, 1945.

The guy was Bill Hassett of Notre Dame who averaged 8.6 ppg in 1945.

Hey, Cal has said all along that minutes don't matter compared to what you DO in those minutes. So far, he seems spot on.

What does WCS need to score in the SEC TOURNEY to get to 10.0 ppg? Wouldn't seem to be that hard to get done. lets see.....32 games x 10 ppg = 320 points. WCS has 275 points throu 31 games. 45 points in his next game would do it lol.

WCS needs to average 21.6 points per game in the sec tourney 3 games to reach 10.0 ppg or score 45 in his first sec tourney game .
He needs to average 13.8 ppg over the next 9 games to also get his average to 10.0 ppg.

The only ones that matter are the Sporting News, the NABC, the USBWA, and the AP teams. That's how the consensus teams are determined. As long as he is 1st team in most of those he should make it. Anyone know when those usually come out?

Just looked this up, the consensus team is based on selections by Sporting News (WCS 1st team), and the yet to select AP, USBWA, and NABC.

edit: you beat me to that one!

How can "concensus" be defined like that? Is there concensus that's how you define consensus? heh. Seriously, why would SI or ESPN, for example, agree to take a back seat like that......

It's the consensus of what the NCAA considers the 4 major awards. They give points based on 1st, 2nd, 3rd team and the 5 highest are the consensus 1st team.
