Joe Henrickson describes his high school as "little known."

Corliss is the alma mater of Darrell Walker '79 who committed to DePaul but then had to go to a community college. He next played on some of the great Arkansas teams which led to him being drafted in the first round. Eventually he played guard on the Michael Jordan Bulls team that won a championship.

My friend's dad was the principal of Corliss when it opened and when Walker was there. The community appealed to him to make things right so he could go to DePaul. In other words, change his grades. The answer was a compassionate, nope. Dorothy Tillman then ran her first Aldermanic campaign around the need to change Corliss' principal to one more connected to the community. She won and the guy who had lobbied CPS for years to get the high school built in an academically underserved community was out.

Based on who was recruiting the young man, and who isn't thought he might not be a prospect for NU.

He made a big deal about pursuing an engineering degree and Purdue is a good school when it comes to engineering. Seems like a kid who might have his act together academically. If Collins can recruit using the same parameters that FItz has in football, this kid may have a good enough academic profile to warrant consideration for an offer.

Corbi changed the title. It was a Purdue article, not NU article. It's just silly to make Anthony Davis comparisons since Anthony Davis is one of the top 3 or 4 basketball players in the world right now. That's all I'm saying.

I didn't read the article.

But the Anthony Davis high school story is that he shot up from 6' 3" guard who was mediocre to a 6' 11" center who had the skills of a 6' 3" guard in two years.

That is a comparison that doesn't promise future NBA greatness. It's about the rapid growth and the new level of interest due to size.

The Admiral was a similar story. Went into the Naval Academy at 6' 5" and was chasing 6' 10" his sophomore year. He was a clear NBA prospect so had to decide if he wanted to hang around into his junior year which meant he had to serve. Which he did for a year and then, IIRC, the Navy let him out to play in the NBA.

It's the physical phenomena of growing rapidly that is unique to these players.

LOL. You have a serious cognitive issue. I changed the title of what? Does the article I linked state that NU has been in contact with the player? Yes it does. Does the article I linked reference comparisons to Anthony Davis, not in terms of current talent level but in terms of a late growth spurt and in terms of being an unheralded player until late in their High school career? Yes it does. So....... once again Turk is talking out his arse.

The article mentioned Yale among schools interested in him. This suggests that his academic profile is strong, at least in relative terms.
