Pisses me off that a #7 Seeded Louisville will possibly get to play in Lexington, but a #3 Seeded Kentucky would have to go all the way to Milwaukee..

If UNC*** gets in with 1 quad 1 win, then the NCAA selection committee will be plainly stating they can cherry pick any reasons whatsoever for inclusion into the NCAA tournament field as an at large bid. They'd be essentially discounting and disregarding the most important relevant metric everyone looks at in order to get them in. It would be outrageous.

But then again, we got Bubba as chairperson this year. Funny how many ex ACC / dUKe / UNC*** people get intimately involved in this "selection" process year to year, huh?

I would also add that they can conversely use any cherry picked reason they want for NOT including a team in.

NOBODY, and I mean NOBODY, not even BBN could say we should have gotten a bid in 2012-13... that team even had what I assume would be 2 quad 1 wins that year, but there was no peep out of anybody when we were excluded from the tournament that year. NOBODY.

watch them get Cheats in. watch them.

They are getting in because they're making a sequel to Radio.

I would like to know how UNC is ahead of Xavier lets compare

Xavier 21-11 NET 46 SOS 58 NC SOS 155 - Q1 2-9, Q2 7-2, (No bad losses) (No games left)
3 wins vs tourney teams (At Marqutte, UCONN, Creighton)

North Carolina 22-12 NET 35 SOS 49 NC SOS 5 - Q1 1-11, Q2 8-0 (1 Q3 loss) (Plays Flaggless Duke semis)
1 win vs tourney team (vs UCLA)

Rooting for Duke today there is no way UNC should be in over Xavier in that trash ACC when they have 1 win over field and Xavier has 3

As long as UNC doesn't play us I don't care if they get in. Maybe they will sneak up and beat someone I really hate.

For me there is no valid reason to ever root for Duke.
I don’t get why you wouldn’t want to play UNC. I think we have a major matchup advantage against them

You got me before I edited that post but I still have memories of them knocking us out in 93 or 94 when we should have smacked them.

Old blue blood like that is liable to have their best game of the year against us.

In 93, Michigan knocked us out. In 94, Marquette knocked us out. In 95, UNC knocked us out but those were two fairly evenly matched teams. This UNC team has serious issues

Really no need to get pissed. This is Lutardi we are talking about. He's horrible with bracket placement and regions.

Did you even read the stats you just posted?

If you put that as an A and B team nobody on the planet would pick A (Xavier) over B (UNC)....neither deserve to be in but if one of them has to it is absolutely UNC.

I think they won 5 of those 8 Quad 2 games by 5 points or less and 3 was by 2 or less.

Lunardi never gets the bracket right but he is clearly paying attention to how they do storylines in our bracket: Robert Morris is our first round opponent and possible UNC in second round then Oklahoma in the sweet 16.

I don’t think anyone in this program even has a thought of losing to robert Morris. So that’s a non storyline imo. I mean they beat us in the nit too lol. Oklahoma yeah you know what they say about beating teams 3x gives us hope for tonight

Honestly, I don't agree with either of you...only b/c I don't think it's so clear cut that either team is clearly above the other.

So you think 1 win over UCLA is better than 3 wins over at Marquette, UCONN and Creighton ?

UNC 2nd best win is SMU at home a non tournament team

UNC also has more losses and UNC also has a quad 3 loss and X does not

Also Big East is way better than the ACC

So yep tell me again how nobody on the planet would put in X over UNC

They don't look at it like that. They look at the numbers and then make a decision. The committee doesn't say Xavier beat UConn by 5 and that's better than UNC beating whoever by 7. UNC has a better NET, better KenPom, better SOS, same Q1/Q2 record

Lunardi has us the 3 seed out West. Palm has us as the 4 seed in Indy region.

Which would we prefer? Thoughts?

We probably had 4 maybe 5 Quad 1 wins in 2013 year actually. Going into the SEC tournament pretty much everyone had Kentucky as in. Barely in but still in the field. The ONLY thing they could not do was lose to an awful sub .500 Vanderbilt team in the first game. And they got beat by 15+. And that bumped them down to the last team out and the number one overall seed in the NIT.

And we know how that ended up.
