probably we are bigger bidder by a mile...Said for weeks Collins is coming to UK. Thats a big fish. Will be good to see.
Need to figure out the rest.
I hate NIL. I hate the transfer portal. I hate one-and-done's. Hell, I hate everything right now. Sorry.I'm REALLY starting to not like NIL. Am I the only that feels that way? I know I'm the grumpy old man on the porch.
No one, and I mean NO ONE should be surprised at this.I'm REALLY starting to not like NIL. Am I the only that feels that way? I know I'm the grumpy old man on the porch.
And they get hurt after a couple games. Red shirt, and roll out the contract demands again. Show me the money with zero accountability. It will change eventually-No one, and I mean NO ONE should be surprised at this.
My wife use to tell me I had to much hate in me, and it wasn't good for me.I hate NIL. I hate the transfer portal. I hate one-and-done's. Hell, I hate everything right now. Sorry.
On Rob Bromley’s Discord someone said they were working on a huge NIL package with Old Folks Country Sausage but since Al passed away they are scrambling to rewrite the ad campaign. Had a cool high concept campaign set up where Collins would sit in a rocking chair and ask Al questions about sausage. Probably going to have to use AI now.Contract details still being worked out? So basically he is saying pay me what I want or I am going elsewhere.

I believe “Trilly” is reveling in Pope’s historical strikeout streak with 5*’s, currently sitting at 0-15, and is just hanging a carrot out there in the form of Collins to troll our ever dwindling faith! If Collins isn’t signing until the Spring, then other schools aren’t out. Just an asinine statement from Trilly.
NIL is actually quite simple… Write the checks, and the players will come!I'm REALLY starting to not like NIL. Am I the only that feels that way? I know I'm the grumpy old man on the porch.
My best guess is it’s more on the timing of the payments, obligations from the NIL components, which part is rev share from the school/which part from NIL, etc. much more than the money.probably we are bigger bidder by a mile...
Probably is just 2M or 3M...
I am pretty sure if he does not sign with Nike, he would already sign with Kansas/Louisville long ago.Would be our luck Nike signs Stokes and he goes to an Adidas school.
I am not sure, until he is actually committing/signing, anything could happen...My best guess is it’s more on the timing of the payments, obligations from the NIL components, which part is rev share from the school/which part from NIL, etc. much more than the money.
Feels like the total money paid part is what was figured out when we jumped to the top from all these insiders.
I don't think Al has passed away. I can't find an obituary anywhere. I believe a "Bob" Purnell passed away, and an Aurelia did.On Rob Bromley’s Discord someone said they were working on a huge NIL package with Old Folks Country Sausage but since Al passed away they are scrambling to rewrite the ad campaign. Not at all.. He knows trolling UK fans brings him $$$$If Collins isn’t signing until the Spring, then other schools aren’t out. Just an asinine statement from Trilly.
BYU is a prime example. One post I read, was questioning why Pope didn't get the recruits like Young has, but young came from the NBA, and had ties there, and he has a billionaire doner, that has publicly stated, that he won't be out bid for a player. AJ Dybantsa was the first big buy for them, and many other good ones to go with him. If the Craft family had that same attitude, wouldn't that be nice.NIL is actually quite simple… Write the checks, and the players will come!
Simply look at literally any other high major or Blue Blood as a point of reference![]()
Trilly is Evan Daniels btw

The problem is that players have to want to play for coaches. If two teams are offering the same amount then the player will go to the one with the coach he likes.BYU is a prime example. We spent the most money in CBB on this mediocre roster. Your point on the Crafts not being able to sustain this long-term is true, but this year is proof that it's not just a spending issue. The money that is available (and there is enough) needs to be budgeted and leveraged and distributed in much smarter ways.I don’t think the Craft family has the level of “**** you” money that the BYU guy has.
It would be really nice if we could get the support of the local bourbon and horse racing industries and not be so dependent on the Crafts.
The guy that owned Winstar farms tried to help with recruiting before. He had that AAU team in texas at one point. Pretty sure he played a role in us getting Julius Randle. Would be awesome if he threw his hat in the NIL ring. Maybe he already has for all we know.
College basketball is lucky in not a billionaire.I don’t think the Craft family has the level of “**** you” money that the BYU guy has.

Which news we talking about now??? I'm more tore up about whether or not Al Purnell is still alive now!!!So the bad news is true and the good news is false according to these replies

our system displays team basketballJust an fyi pope also had said donor and more. Mormons aren't exactly lacking for money. Also fyi we spend plenty and aren't being outside unless it's duke.
Its just a different system. NBA dreams still matter. Our system doesn't display talent like many others'.
Isn't nil greatContract details still being worked out? So basically he is saying pay me what I want or I am going elsewhere.

Regulated it would probably be pretty good. Just like anything left unregulated, it becomes the wild wild west. Which is what is it right now.Isn't nil great![]()

Enough $ they would play for secretariatThe problem is that players have to want to play for coaches. If two teams are offering the same amount then the player will go to the one with the coach he likes.
It’s likely why our NIL is so high. Teams offered only so much for role players and Pope had to offer a little (or much) higher. The opposing teams probably felt they could just find a substitute for the same amount or less.
Players just don’t seem to want to play for Pope for some reason.
Maybe the BYU guy, just has bluer blood then the Crafts, he is for sure a big fan to put out that statement about not getting out bid for players. That has to give a coach a really good feeling.I don’t think the Craft family has the level of “**** you” money that the BYU guy has.
