Vic Law layed an egg in the biggest game of his life. He outta be dam thankful for the effort Mac and the rest of his teammates who bailed him out. 1-8 from the field and lackadaisical effort ain't gonna cut it at this time in the season. Let's hope he wakes up and has a huge game against the Zag's. Tap needs more minutes if law doesnt wake up fast.

Disagree. He was cold on offense, to be sure, but his defense was critical. We won this game with our D.

With all the positive things to post about, you create a thread like this. No class. Pitiful.

He contributed on D big Time and on the boards but I was also frustrated by his play tonight. Our bench will be more crucial against the Zags

Obviously Law didn't have a good game on offense but he was important in other areas especially our defense which played extremely well. Hopefully Vic will have certain d-bags eating their words after the Gonzaga game.

His streaky play on offense is concerning in that there never seems anything in between the highs and lows. We need Good Offense Vic tomorrow to have a shot.

That said, he embodied what coaches always tell kids -- if one part of your game isn't there, find another way to help the team win. He did. Great D as always. We need GREAT Defense Vic tomorrow to have a shot as well.

xxjfgxx layed an egg in the biggest post of his life. He outta be dam (sic) thankful for the effort from the rest of the Wildcat Report posters who bailed him out. 1-8 from the keyboard and lackadaisical effort ain't gonna cut it at this time in the season. Let's hope he wakes up and has a huge game against the Zag's. The rest of Wildcat Report need more posts if he doesnt (sic) wake up fast.

You laid an egg with this pathetic post. We would have lost without Vic's defense, no doubt about it. Take a timeout and think about it, then thank goodness we have him on our team. We need him bigly against Gonzaga.

Law is to the defense what BMac is to the offense. And it was pretty obvious Vandy was intimidated by the defense in the first half.

Pardon picked up Law's offensive slack. Whatever the case, he needs to nail down the FTs next time. He cant be 1 dimensional when we count on him. Lumkin got goose eggs on offense and in rebounds so he needs to do better. We wont be able to rely on Mac getting 25 against gonzo. And pardon's leadership laid it all on the line because he is simply a tough hard nosed player.

Make no mistake, we are where we are because of tough hard nosed never say die attitude of mac and pardon. Law has that as well, he just has to find it.

If im gonzo, i take away mac and force law to beat me. Thats whats coming.

It's funny you said that. I just told somebody at the water cooler earlier this morning that Law seems to have his best games when his first shot attempt is a dunk! Perhaps it puts him in a more aggressive state of mind. Who knows...

Agree - he was close to being the goat with that miss on the front end of the one on one. That being said he had a great game on defense and he is the first recruit that bought what Collins was selling - he saw this happening 4 years ago when he signed

To the OP....Screw You.

NU is back in Evanston this afternoon if Law isn't on the court playing D.

The "tell" for guys that don't know jack about basketball is the solitary focus on offensive stats.

Vic Law does more stuff that never works it's way onto even the most sophisticated and detailed of stat sheets than just about anyone in the BT. An angle that cuts off a passing lane. A half step back that prevents a blow-by. Off ball defense that forces a pass the passer didn't want to make, which leads to a steal - for somebody else. Heck, the mere presence of his quick first step and anticipation and long arms anywhere around the passing lane changes the angles of the entire offense. Length and skill plus basic head's up basketball.

Coaches see it.

Douches whine.

First, it's "laid" an egg, not "layed." Second, what everyone else said about Law's defense and rebounding. Third, he has to have a career game tomorrow for us to have a chance. I think he will.

As stated elsewhere Law's shooting percentages are ON AVERAGE quite good:
about 40% overall and almost 40% 3P.
The strange and maddening thing is how he does it: by having extremely good (10-13) or extremely bad (1-8) shooting days.

It's unclear whether it is the opponent that does it, or perhaps it is his shooting mechanics ( he makes a small involuntary change that makes a huge difference).

Hopefully it is the latter, which can potentially be discovered thru careful examination of videos, and corrected.

Then Law may become a regular 75% shooter!!!
;-)
