If you were here for the Tubby years you understand the reference. Never thought I would want to sound the bugle for Cal but it’s time. You can recruit all the best players but if you can’t coach them up then you are no better than Tubby who could flat out coach but couldn’t recruit at an elite level.

I started following in 73, when I met a freshman to be under Rupp. I am ready for a UK coach, it appears to me Cal is a pro mentor.... if we get some plugs, so be it....at least we are trying to get UK to the top, (not an after thought of mentoring some pro boys... how many years have we seen a seasoned team, knock our little pro's to be, butts in the dirt.)

Go CATS sometime again I hope.

Tell me one player that improved from the start of the season under Cals coaching. Oscar started great and ended great. Grady, wheeler and Ty Ty all got worse. Toppin, Keion and Davion did not improve. Collins and Hokies and Allen all rode the bench and did not improve

Old legion crew returning 17 years older with a wife

So we have to go back in time to the legion of doom and regroup in order to change the future….

90s Pitino was incredible. For Cal to recruit like he does and not have the killer instinct....I just don't get it.

Calipari ain’t the competitor I always thought he was. Competitive coaches get a ring and want a second. Jim Boeheims get one and they’re content. Cal is not Roy, Pitino, or K. He’s Jim Boeheim. Hopefully the brass doesn’t allow him to stay to that degree.

I really think that Cal sees himself as a traditional type "teacher" at times, preparing people for life after school.....I had a wonderful algebra and trigonometry teacher. I can say for sure that my life would not be anything the same without her..... but she didn't get paid millions, had to deal with 100's of students a year.... and hardly any of us make millions. I would like for cal to try and be a coach for the University of Kentucky....... or leave, return 80% or so of what he has invested...... and get someone else, or himself to finance a pre pro camp.

How about you return what you didn't earn..... yea lol..... I am dumb, like at least 90% of us....... I think.... I was all ways told, don't think.... KNOW

Only way he's leaving is if his ego is bruised enough. That comes from us and boosters. Don't go to the damn games, don't buy merchandise, tell UK exactly how you feel and what you're not doing. If you know any boosters, have a chat with them. Don't boycott local business's that support the program but let the business know how you feel. Every little thing whittles away at Cal's foundation. At some point he'll take the hint and bail.

Otherwise, with his lifetime contract, we can't afford to fire him and Barney doesn't have the balls for that kind of step anyway. The only way he goes is on his own and that won't happen so long as he continues to think his crap doesn't stink.

This is one of the more frustrating aspects for me. Roy is gone, K is on his way out, both UNC and Duke have/will have inexperienced coaches, and Pitino is coaching some random school. The landscape was wide open for Cal to claim. He follows it with a 9 win season and a loss to a 15 seed.

The 2010 Cal would laugh and probably slap this current version of Cal. The fire has long been gone.

That’s the thing though. Cal doesn’t get the “best” players anymore. Those days are long gone

But he isn't landing the best, nor are they playing. Players first is similar to inmates running the asylum.
