I consider myself a program fan. If the coaches suck, cut bait. It’s about the records and standing/brand. Coaches come and go.

We were not Tubby haters. We knew he wasn’t UK material in his last 4 / 5 years and jumped out early calling to move on. None of us were what that whole situation is painted as.
I really don't care who the nicer guy was. Cal didn't get the job done and had to go and the same goes for Pope. I'm frankly tired of hearing what a wonderful human being Mark is as this isn't the leader of a boy scout troop.
I am not and will not be angry at Mark for anything. He’s done nothing wrong, he’s probably just not cut out for this. You can’t lose your team in this way, regardless of the issue. Whatever is going on and I think I know of 1 or 2 issues, you can’t lose them like this. So Mark needs to be replaced. If they want to come out and make some statements and explain a few things then maybe some will listen but he’s missing a lot in recruiting and now it’s getting really bad here. I don’t see how he’s going to make it and I don’t think he does either.
Idk how Mitch has made it this long. I agree with you, I’m not mad at Pope. He shouldn’t have gotten this job in the first place. If fans looked at Pat Kelsey’s resume compared to Popes they would be sick over it.
I figured, figured, with the UK brand and the NIL, he would basically be recruited for, and we just get his genius coaching ability. But apparently even with the NIL that’s not how it works. Gotta have the pedigree for basketball here.
I don’t gamble but if I did I’d bet on it that Mitch and pope have both been cursed at worse than they ever have in their lives over this situation. 22 million dollars spent on this kind of roster….id say it’s ugly behind the scenes right now.
It’s the same 5-6 on the board that always like each others posts. They get fighting mad over any criticisms of the coaches even the fair ones. It’s really, really weird
Just to be clear I wasn't directing my post at you. I consider you one of our better posters. I was just pissed at the idea that I'm supposedly a hypocrit because I hated Cal by the end and I don't hate Pope, from the LOD talk. Of course Pope deserves to be questioned over what's going on now.
Hey Mike , glad to see a few old RR posters hanging here . I loathed Cal and probably raised more hell about him than any single poster . He stayed 2-3 years too long , maybe 4 . As far as Pope goes I think he did a ok job last year , we have a healthy PG last year and we go to the FF . Kid was that tough . I guess , and that’s all we can do , guess that a severe locker room issue has blossomed and MP hasn’t fixed it .. prob so severe it isn’t going to get fixed at this point . That’s somewhat on him .. but I think I’d give him 1 more year , assuming we hold it together to finish above 500 .. but Aberdeen has been abysmal, Lowe abysmal, even when he does play , OO was sooo entirely overrated it was shocking. He looked pathetic a month ago . 6”4 forwards don’t do well in today’s game . I swear that turd had 2 TOs that ended up in our possession by kick in the first 90 seconds . Anyway it’s not going to get much better this year , guys dint like each other . SignedThis team won't make the NCAA tournament. Since 2020, that'll be 2 missed tournaments, with only 3 NCAA tournament wins. Keep propping up your coaches though, and never question anything. Always put your coach before the program. IU, here we come.

We don’t get a say if Pope leaves. But neither does Mitch Barnhart. It’ll be boosters who determine whether he gets another season or not. And as it stands, I very much doubt he gets another year.
