Tre Jones looks and performs a lot like his older brother, former Duke great, Tyus. He models his game after Tyus' which means there is an emphasis on a pass first mentality. But the UNC game showed a remarkable resemblance to former Duke pg, Jason (now Jay) Williams.

Both Tre and Jason, as point guards, led Duke to National Championships. Williams was the more dominant scorer, Tyus as a dominant distributor.

For the current Duke team to reach the pinnacle, Tre may need to continue to be a dominant offensive scorer, as he was against Carolina, thus following the Jason Williams model. Do you agree?

I would prefer a healthy combination of the two, knowing when to be which, and I think he displayed that

It's crazy how different Tre and Tyus's games really are. Tre elite defensively but a poor shooter, Tyus literally the opposite.

However, they both got the same heart, and the same confidence gene.

If we can get Tre to realize when he needs to be Jay or Tyus in a particular game then we will be in great shape. Sometimes we just need him to run the offense and sometimes we need him to be aggressive (as long as he stops with those transition pull up 3s). Just don’t forget that Vernon is option 1 though

Gotta say I’ve got much love for all our former players, but I’m just happy for Tre just being Tre.
