This team is solid but they are learning that playing at Kentucky is different. Crowds are bigger, louder, Home/Away. Teams play better than their roster and talent level almost always. The game is officiated different when Kentucky walks thru the tunnel. I believe this team will elevate even more and be even better as they acclimate more to all these you are now at Kentucky truths.

And just playing more and more together with all new players, a new Coach and system.

With our tough schedule out the gate 10-1 is phenomenal!

Saw where we have 2 games in 21 days. Lots of practice time . Interested to see if any new wrinkles will be added .

This team hasn’t become a team yet.

I thought from the summer we would be top 10 by Jan.

We’re ahead of that obviously.

I can’t imagine our defensive rebounding won’t improve drastically over the next two weeks of intense practice.

Plus our coach knows a thing or two about rebounding.

I’ll be surprised if we don’t add some defensive twists too.

In the past our young teams were much better after the Christmas holidays, resulting from extended practices. With so many new players this year I can see valuable improvement heading into the new year. IMO, this team will continue to improve until tourney time.

The way I look at it is like this.

We got one of the best up and coming coaches in all of college basketball In Pope plus we got the
Best player at SDSU- Butler
Best player at Oklahoma - Oweh
Best player at BYU- Jaxson
Best player at Wake- Carr
Best player at Drexel- Amari
Best player at Dayton- Brea
Best player at Zona- Kerr
Best players at FDU- Almoror
Best player at OSU- Garrison

3 frosh who are playing like frosh but all will be back and make huge leaps in their game's.

A staff that is almost as good as we could ask for.

3 recruits hopefully 4 with Wilson who will all be burger boy's.

Not to mention we're 10-1 with wins over Duke, Zags and the dirty birds. It's gonna be a good Christmas

Dang. That’s an interesting breakdown I hadn’t thought of.

As pointed out above the players are good basketball players and have good IQ. Except for Jaxson, none of them have learned to trust Mark Pope's system instinctively yet. They have good overall instincts but will be so much better when they react in game according to the new rules of this system. It's so tough to react and not think when you haven't learned to trust something new. I'm positive it will happen sooner than later.

I really don't want new wrinkles during that time, just clean up the rebounding, defensive intensity, etc. This team is good but just needs to straighten out a few areas of concern and we will be dangerous. Get Pope's offensive schemes down better along with the other areas and we could really have something.

I believe we will see more and more sets being added now. Hopefully they work on defense and rebounding.
