I 'll see Art this weekend. I will be sure to tell him the board had some good things to say about him.
I will never forget the LSU game when the LSU player was trying to tackle him and he carried the LSU player into the end zone. The caption "Now that you caught him what are you going to do with him." No way the LSU player could bring him down so I guess all he could do was enjoy the ride into the end zone.
I was at the Florida game in Gainesville that year and it still ranks as one of the most enjoyable football games of my life, especially being with all Florida fans. Thank you for the memories.
Sawnee, I have a similar memory, but it was Cawood's call on the radio:"LSU is giving chase . . . . what'll he do if he catches him?" It was a return of a blocked field goal, if memory serves.
Well, on the one hand, you're off by a year on the 40-yr anniversary, but OTOH, Still was on the '76 team. Sounds good to me!
The defense is clearly improving from the dreadful performances we saw at the beginning of the season. Hopefully they can make another step forward this coming Saturday night.
What made him special was not only his size, strength and athleticism, but his drive to win. He's the greatest to ever lace them up for UK, IMHO.
Art Still was the best to ever play at UK in my lifetime.
