Pretty much tells me he's 99% done for the season.
Sounds like he's considerably behind Butler as far as a return.
If he's a month out, that's the season and it's not reasonable to expect that he could return at any point and actually be more effective than Perry in a backup role.

I think the medical redshirt would only be an option if the NCAA does Not go to a “5 seasons in 5 years rule” which would allow Almonor to return but not Kriisa.

That’s an interesting proposition. Almonor instead of Krista? I’d take that deal if it was an option.

Is this an either or situation or could we get both or neither?

I don’t think you can get a medical redshirt in basketball when you’ve played games already. It’s not like football.

Unfortunately I think we have seen the brief UK career of kerr krissa come to an end already.

They don’t even have that in the table though and it won’t get passed before next year even if they did.

I feel bad for Krisa, but Kentucky doesn’t need him back next year. Replacing butler is far more important. Lewis getting back up mins is also more important.

You can play up to a certain number of games and last I looked into it Kriisa looked to be right on the line.

I’m not sure if a redshirt is possible, but I’d take him back in a heart beat as a backup.

If things the last of Krissa, I’ll always remember him trying to play defense with a broken foot.

Gladly take him back next year . Lewis and Kerr pg is set.. where's he going to go ? His best option is to return.

Hope the best for the kid without a doubt but I think we'd be better off replacing both him and Almonor for next year.

What I was trying to say, under current rules Almonor cannot return, but KK can apply for and probably get a medical redshirt and return next year. But if the NCAA changes to a simpler “5 in 5” rule like they have talked about maybe doing, that would for certain give Almonor another year, but it would take away KK’s redshirt option since this was his 5th year.

I think it is 30% of regular season games, which is 9. He played 9.

The difference in football is you can play a little and get a non- medical RS. You can’t do that in basketball. But this would be a medical RS.

I would take Almonor all day every day over our three current freshman next season. Replace them with Ansley and two proven college seniors just like him for those last three spots on the bench. We would be way better off next season and injuries to starters would not cause the massive drop off we have had this season.

I understood what you were saying. If you could pick one which would it be was the gist of my convoluted response. I think I’d rather have Almonor back but a good veteran guard is a great asset as well.
