Just saw Lincoln Riley say he was not going to be the next LSU coach in an interview from yesterday. Top SoCal hs qb recruit just decommitted from the Sooners.
Wonder where he will end up?

I'm sure Riley looked down the road and realized how hard it will be to recruit players to Norman, OK once they switch to the SEC. Nearly every other college town in the SEC is more attractive and ALL of them have better weather.

Oklahoma is about to experience what Nebraska did when they joined the Big Ten, a slow descent into irrelevance.

Don't think so. Wealthy, engaged alums plus Texas is their talent playground. They will lose more games in the SEC but they will still be a tough out.

Morty headed out the door; Jim Phillips gone ...; Be interesting to see what happens when the new prez begins. In her letter to students and alums she commented that she strongly supported university athletics and believed in playing to win. How would she have felt about this year? She is coming here from Wisconsin.

Nebraska is in the middle of nowhere, forced to raid the home recruiting territories of other conferences.

Oklahoma is a hop and a skip from the DFW Metroplex, and the Sooners will be recruiting “SEC country.”

The Sooners will be fine. Their fans will have to get used to winning a lot fewer conference championships. (But a thumping by Georgia is easier to take than a thumping by Oklahoma State, I suppose.)

Many of Oklahoma's (and Alabama's and OSU's among others) are from Southern California. Watch how many of those recent commitments fall away like tics of a dog after a dose of tic powder.

Now that's an appropriate description for Oklahoma - except maybe refer to a horse or cow.

Really? Here is how many OU commits are from Southern Cal:

2022: One
2021: Zero
2020: Zero
2019: Three
2018: Zero

I'd hardly say OU will be hurt by the loss of California players.
