Chris Collins mentioned that Scottie Lindsey suffered from back spasms during last night's great game.Hopefully this will not be a recurrent problem.

Assuming that Cats beat IN on Sunday, the Purdue game on Feb 1 will be the biggest NU game in many years (decades?)

GO CATS !

Back spasms are tricky, IMO. It's tough to know exactly what is causing them. Does he need a different mattress? Less stress? Will more stretching and exercise help? Will more stretching and exercise aggravate it? Should he be sitting in a different chair when he is playing Nintendo? I had back trouble all through college and beyond, I got a new car and the trouble went away in a month.

Backs are very tricky. Lindsey, to my knowledge, has never had back issues, and the word is he suffered an injury during the Ohio State game. Muscle spasms are almost always a response to the muscles tightening to protect an injured area, so hopefully the injury is minor, as I would suspect.

The best thing for him to do is rest this week to give the muscles time to relax and heal the injury. So he probably sits out practice, gets his RICE/anti-inflammatories, and stretches, and is good as new on Sunday.

Youth is also a marvelous thing. Many of us on this board would take a little longer to recuperate from this type of injury, but when you're 20 years old, you're practically invincible.

The problem is that Sunday is in two days. And did he make things worse playing last night? He was clearly not himself.

Stop it basketball gods.... just stop it right now. Don't you dare try and take this away from us!
